Not that people are fakes, more like even the most desperate guys on here can smell someone who doesn't come off as genuine, as someone looking for a quick buck, etc. Among other things, if I understand fin domme correctly, it is still a relationship, virtual or otherwise, and I suspect that with those who practice fin domme, they actually get to know the subs first, establish something with them, before things begin (maybe one of the fin dommes on here could comment on that, I could be wrong). On top of everything else, the post and the profile are written like someone who has been told "there are a bunch of men out there, suckers, who if you proclaim yourself a fin domme, will send you money if you make them feel like the degraded piece of shit they are", it plays out like some 4th rate erotic fiction idea of what a domme of any kind is, so if people don't respond to it, not surprised..especially since guys into that kind of thing are pretty rare IME. I don't blame TN Fin Domme for getting upset with this person using the term 'fin domme', it isn't about style or about being real, it is about someone who quite frankly makes it harder for others who are doing it to ply their trade. Charlatans in any business make it harder for others, just ask a good used car dealer what their image is like, and lawyers spend a lot of time bitching about their image, because of the less than ethical types who have made their profession the butt of many jokes, where a civil rights lawyer is lumped in with the guy advertising if you have had any kind of accident, or anything at all, they will sue and make you money *shrug*. Same way that in the early 70s the gay leather community in NYC faced real problems with abusive,'bad tops', and they reacted by educating the community about the difference between abuse and consensual play, and also openly publicized the names and descriptions of 'bad tops' known to be out there, to try and prevent others from being hurt, there is a line there somewhere. She felt that this person and people like them gave her trade a bad name, as pro dommes do with 'hookers with a whip' do, and spoke up,as is her right.
