descrite -> RE: Why the outrage against fakes? (6/13/2013 11:52:00 PM)

For me, it's strictly a time management issue. I have a finite amount of time during which I am awake. I wish to maximize the utility of that time (that, optimize the amount of enjoyment I can get from every moment).

If I am spending time reading a profile of someone who does not actually exists, and then crafting a message to send to that person, this is a portion of my life that has been wasted.

(NOT the same as communicating with someone and discovering we're not compatible-- that's not a waste, it's just time invested.)

On this site, the vast (VAST) majority of profiles I have looked at (women) have been fake-- specifically, scams/ads for webcams. Not profiles of people who want to meet other people.

This is annoying. And frequent.

Other sites have this problem, too, but (from where I sit) with a fraction of the frequency. I have met (in person) over a dozen people from FL and OKC, and more than half of those became lovers/play partners...while none (that's zero) of the contacts from CM have even resulted in a single initial meetup.

I don't know what this means in terms of causation or format or whatever...but it is a data point.

Sometimes people get cold feet, and no one is under any compulsion to follow through with meeting up with someone else. Yeah, it sucks and tells a lot about that person, but there's not a lot you can do about it but move on.

Perhaps some people don't think manners, or courtesy, count for so much on line as it does in the real world. You're right it sucks, &, there's no point in losing sleep over it.

Rants may not solve a problem, but they serve a purpose.

It is my experience that a lot of people generally lie. If they can do it to my face,I am not surprised that there are people that can do it behind a computer.

Apparently people lie at least seven times a day & that's just the honest ones among us.

Yeahhh, that's it, that's the ticket...but I could be lying about that too.

Every so often (like three or four times a week), someone posts a diatribe against the fake profiles.

Why?

I'm a straight Dom male. That means that I'm suited only for straight or bi sub or switch women. They either live here or are willing to move here.

That rules out maybe 95%-99% of the women on collarme.

Why is it that people have no objection to the people with wrong gender, orientation, side of the kneel, geographic location, etc., but get bent out of shape about the criterion of them being real? That's nothing but another selection category.

so fakers are just an extra selection category, if you could choose fakers of, would not you choose it?
If you found a sub within the 5% of your criteria, and write together for 6 months and she turns you on, it would not be a bit annoying that the sub girl was actually a man? Or if it was a sub girl who had sent you fake pictures, and lied about age, experience, etc. How do you trust someone who's lying?

Fakes make it harder on everyone to find genuine. And then we all get a double deficit of distrusting others to be genuine. and on and on.
