Late update: Well it turns out my running problem wasn't so much a runner's problem as a symptom of developing lactose intolerance. In retrospect I have had so many 'off' days this year I should've guessed it was something like this. I even had blood tests done because I had so many minor sicknesses, with nothing found of course. No one is my family is lactose intolerant, and during pregnancy I drank huge quantities of milk every day, so I never suspected it could be an issue. Now I feel 50% 'oh man, that's most of my favourite foods out!' and 50% relief that's all it is. Thank goodness I know how to cook though. I never realised how pervasive dairy is in packaged foods, even things which I wouldn't expect. Thanks for all the suggestions.
