I say "no go" OP. it sounds too sketchy. As a fin domme, not fin-duck, I would never not want my subs to know things about me. What you're experiencing is a quick scam, I'm sure 20 other people like yourself are answering her questions. Any relationship (vanilla or non) should be give and take, both ways.

goodgirlmary -> RE: Applying to serve (7/1/2013 6:27:35 AM)

But some online training is legit though, right?

The VAST majority of it is a bunch of wankers wanting to see a free cam show (or get paid to watch the cam show).

What, exactly, are you looking to be trained to do where an online environment would be appropriate?

JMO I've never seen any online training ventures that I'd consider to be legit.

No. There is no such thing.

Just like in real life, there is no short cut for getting to know someone.

I hate the word training. It is two people getting to know what each likes, just like vanilla people.

As for the OP, I find it sad that they had to ask the question.

goodgirlmary -> RE: Applying to serve (7/1/2013 6:40:13 AM)

Im um not. I just wondered.

There are a ton of dommes that offer it though.really nice ones. I would just think since sometimes asking questions to other members doesnt go over well,it might be nice to accept a limited online training.or sometimes you find a trainer with your same backround. Sheesh idk...

TNDommeK -> RE: Applying to serve (7/1/2013 6:48:13 AM)

It can be done, to a certain extent but I prefer real time.

Ahh...it's good to see that I have finally found someone that knows the one true way of things!

There are two different red flags here.

1. Training. I've seen legit training. I've actually done training others in techniques such as flogging. But 95+% of training is horndogs trying to talk women into doing stuff with no commitment.

2. Online. While some online communication is good, a lot is married wankers, etc.

Note also that such training things as proper technique, protocol for tea service, etc., is much harder communicated online.

Like I said, it's just my opinion, however....what is BDSM "training"? What do people need to be "trained" for and what's the online version of that? Does it consist of calling someone by a title or to offer some preprogrammed way of talking with that person? Is calling someone Mistress online training? I just consider that to be people learning each other's preferences as in "hey...call me Judy, I don't really go by Judith." I don't actually understand what the training supposedly consists of. Telling someone not to masturbate or to masturbate x times a day? Telling them to wear frilly underwear? Is training asking them for money? Is it asking the trainee to perform tasks? Why not just call all that things in the category of what you want them to do?

Therefore I see people who offer training as being people who offer role play opportunities. To me that's not the same as training someone towards a goal. If you are trained in something I think you should somehow end up with a skill, what's the skill here? Being able to hold a dildo in your ass for 2 hrs?

TNDommeK -> RE: Applying to serve (7/1/2013 7:05:45 AM)

To me, training can be something like this: Dom X tells his slave to contact him every morning when she wakes up and every night before bed. Enough nights and mornings of this, the Dom no longer has to tell her to do so. She is trained to do this now.

Might not be a great example but it IS an example.

goodgirlmary -> RE: Applying to serve (7/1/2013 7:19:16 AM)

Some of it is complete nonsense like lizi said, but sometimes I think it might be a legit way for people to find private mentoring oppertunities.more like tndomme said. I have no idea. There are a ton of people offering it. Some offer a vague journey of selfdiscovery or finding your inner slave.theres lots of offering, and Im sure you guys know that. Anyway, I only asked. I ask a lot of questions.

lizi -> RE: Applying to serve (7/1/2013 7:21:53 AM)

Ok, isn't this the same as Dom X telling his slave he expects her to contact him at certain times? What is the thing that makes this training and not him saying I'd like you to do this...? I guess I don't get the part where this isn't the same as Dom X telling his slave how he prefers her to contact him and she goes off and does it. Am I missing something? So the slave gets it in to her head and makes it a habit. Why is that training? Isn't that the same is figuring out when you have to be out the door in order to get to work on time so you do that each day or the fact that garbage pickup in on Tuesdays?

And your post shows EXACTLY why training is a bullshit concept. That works for THAT relationship but her next master sleeps in late, doesnt want or need petty control, etc.

Its as stupid as me saying I license people to train submissives in style 2.7 or something. There is no standard to train people for!

I teach women how to embrace their inner beauty and find strenth in their submission.

I willinterject that most of them maydo that but some of them do not

Yep. There's a branch of High Protocol that teaches how to deliver tea service by rigorous standards. Like if you go to High Tea at a swanky place.

Otterswim, who posts here occasionally, has looked into this.

SimplyMichael -> RE: Applying to serve (7/1/2013 7:50:09 AM)

Mary, some rapists are just being friendly, some politicians are honest and some people fall out of airplanes and live. Still bad bets.

And, people who believe in trainers are 90% new and people who don't are 90% experienced, you do the math.

SimplyMichael -> RE: Applying to serve (7/1/2013 8:00:32 AM)

MsDomina, my first contact in the scene almost 20 years ago was the driving force behind developing tea service, at least on the west coast, as a fetish. She had a very early web presence and posted a lot of info about it so it got picked up.by a lot of people.

To be a male submissive and serve at the all female Domme event you had to attend THEIR training which was custom to their event and not overly universal.
