Thanks for all the advice to answer the ?'s yes the girls straightforward said it was because my height. Im not insecure i have no problem with my self.

Then it is a preference issue. I have relationships with Doms shorter than me and I am 5'6". They just happen to love BBWs like me.

Now, if I was looking for a relationship, I would consider someone in my area. I have to deal with family issues though (Mom has been nesting again...HELP!!!).

Like you could stand being around an 18 year old hottie (and the attitude that comes with it 99% of the time) for any length of time.

The poor thing would starve to death cause you'd never remove the damn gag.

I'm 5'6" and I actually have run into the same discrimination. The important thing is that I just don't care. Never have. If you're going to pass over me because I resemble Wolverine more than Superman, it's your loss. Now, if you pass over me because of the comic book references ... well ... I probably can't blame you too much!

I've always found the height factor to be complete bollocks. If i can get a girl then so can every other midget.

But it is so fun playing with the shorter guys! Most of the tall ones are uptight, looking for the hottie 18yo trophy fluff. I want a short man who knows what he wants and is not afraid to get it. The last Dom enjoyed our time together and I loved his kids like my own.

I am also a geek...I just need to remember to put my glasses on when I am working on stuff.

To the OP. I do not know if your problem is that you are short, or if it is something else, or a combination of the two. I will say this. Despite most of the comments on this thread it is a statistical fact that the taller a man is the more successful he is. And not just at dating. The taller a man is the higher a salary he makes, they rise further up corporate ladders. The list goes on and on.

There is a genuine bias against short men. What is interesting is that shorter women desire taller men even more than a woman of average height. I happen to enjoy oriental women who tend to be shorter, 5'0" being common. They almost to a woman want men six feet tall or taller.

But you know what? Life's a bitch. It ain't fair. You work with what you got. I speak from experience as I am not a tall man. That has not stopped me from having a number of wonderful, beautiful relationships over the years. Woman from my height, 5'7" to just under 5 feet. My slave is 5'3" and beautiful in body, mind and spirit.

So yeah, we are at a disadvantage. It is harder for us than the averaged sized guy. Failure is not about falling down. Failure is falling down and not getting up again.
End of sermon.

Oh and just to end on a high(er) note. Shorter men live statistically longer than taller men!

FR

I'm one of those that prefer taller men. At 5'7" I'm average and prefer at least 5'10" but ideal height is more around 6'2". My reasoning is that I prefer to look up to my man. While looking up from my knees is fine and dandy, I do have to stand at some point. I also like wearing heels so the taller he is, the better.

I've never explored my reasonings with much depth before as it was just a preference, but I suppose that it makes me feel more like his little woman. Makes me feel more weaker.

I have dated one man my height and, go figure, ended up marrying him. What he lacked in height, he made up for in personality.

I'm not entirely sure on this since if my personality was different I might have different preferences, but if I were a Domme I believe I'd still prefer a taller man. Something just tells me I'd have fun beating up on someone bigger than me. Who knows.

Obviously, there are women out there that don't have a height preference so don't give up. Just like any other thing, you have to find someone who is compatible.

Well, what do you bring to the table? Do you have lots of money? A big shlonker? Funny doesn't count because short guys are funny to look at already.

If you have no money, no shlonker and your a shortass... You really have to think outside the box mate, because thats a tough hand to play.

I'm one of those who has no interest in short men. Master is 6' and when I was single I only dated men 5'10" and taller. Being really tall makes me feel secure and protected and I like being all wrapped completely in his arms. It's just what I'm attracted to.

Everyone has preferences.

Just for the heck of it..........

Threads like this are why I tell folks, male s-types especially, to get the heck off of the internet. On the net, particularly on the personals side, you can quickly be reduced to a bunch of stats. There are thousands upon thousands of profiles around this joint. At least hundreds in your local area if you are from a big enough place. After being bombarded with all of that info after a period of time, it's so much easier to be discounted because of height, weight, age, etc. That's *if* you get past the screen name/pic first barrier. (Don't believe Me? Ask women how quickly a kink or dick-centric screen name gets them to delete messages unread.)

You've got little to no shot of your personality coming through and that's generally why people are willing to overlook less than perfect stats in real life.

This flu is kicking my ass... So I don't have much in the way of good advice/comments for the OP, but there are super short girls out there, why don't you just make that one of YOUR prefrences?

And nice researching skills Ishtar, working out the percentages of that thread!

I am trying to figure out when my preferring a man who is 6 feet or taller became discrimination against someone who isnt.

Yeah....I suppose I should have been upset if someone passed me by because I wasn't chesty enough. Never bothered me, though.

I knew a guy that would buy a bottle of hair dye if the lady wasn't a blond. The women actually went for it. Of course he looked like Clint Eastwood.

I have had mixed experience with this subject. I am 5'6" on average (fluctuates a little). In terms of vanilla dating, I would say that women definitely prefer a taller man - but that doesn't mean they will throw away an average height or slightly short guy for that reason alone. In BDSM it seems that height serves an important role for many people (men and woman). Woman tend to be more adamant about height requirements or what is acceptable. I have been on all sides of the BDSM spectra - Sub, Switch, Dom, Master.

I would say that in general Submissive women are the most callous about Height. I can't say I blame them...It makes sense to want someone physically and noticeably larger than yourself so you feel more submissive naturally. That being said, I have had no real problems finding partners and girlfriends at 5'6". I am attractive, intelligent and loving and many woman put those qualities above height.

There have been a few woman that have said to me that they would prefer a taller man - I understand that but think that they are making a mistake. Ultimately people that dismiss someone based on things that they cannot control are selfish. I would never say no to a Black Slave because she is Black. I would never say no to a tall or short Slave because of their height. I would never say no to a disabled Slave because she is Disabled. You get my point.

Since I would never discriminate against someone based on things that they cannot control, I have absolutely no interest in people who do. I look beyond the BDSM lifestyle and think what is right and what is wrong. I am looking for a lifelong Master / Slave relationship with the foundation of Love. If you get turned down because of your height or skin color or whatever, just forget about them and know you are a person who still has a lot to offer to those who are understanding and not superficial.

Everyone has different preferences. I don't have a problem with dating a shorter man as long as I know he's still strong enough to overpower me with ease, though as I am a touch on the short side for a woman, this isn't a frequent occurrence and it's only come up in my dating life once.

I think that no matter what your traits or preferences are, unless it's a set of very stringent or unrealistic preferences, there's someone out there who's a match. For some of us, the search might take a little longer and be more difficult (being over 30 and looking for a Master under 40 can be a challenge...), but there are definitely people who are looking for what you have.

Pft... I tried being blonde once.. at the request of my son. I was never so relieved when, after one look, he begged me to go back to being a reddie.
