None of the above. Whatever action YOU undertake it is the fact that it is hidden from your partner/s. If it has to be done behind their back and you know it would hurt them to find out then it is cheating.

I go with the "doing something with someone else behind your partners back knowing it would hurt them if they found out", as others have said. I also think you can cheat with your heart and your mind without having taken any action at all.

Cheating is anything that you do in secret and that would hurt your partner if they found out about it. Afterall, when in a relationship, it's what your partner considers cheating that counts.

Your pole is to vauge. You do not have an option for doing something with someone else your mate would be upset about. I view cheating as something someone has done with another that would upset them and damage the relationship Ie fucking another man when you two are exclusive.

cheating is running out without paying your check looking over someone's shoulder during a test telling one girl, she's the one and seeing another sleeping while you are suppose to be working and getting paid. What is cheating? Cheating is getting caught...everything else is fair game! Who has driven after a few beers? Who has smoked pot? Who has parked in the handicapped parking places? Who has told lies? Everyone but me....you damn cheaters!......shrugs and fesses up..me too. We are all cheaters and we are all human, which is why we cheat. In my humble opinion?

Every couple should sit down and have a really good discussion about what's ok and what's not. Once you are clear on that, then you're responsible for living within the rules you set. If something comes up that isn't clear...then pass on the opportunity and discuss it with your partner next chance you get. Cheating is not about sex. Cheating is about breaking the understanding you have with your partner. Cheating is about lying and hiding things. (Even if you think you are doing it to protect them! Hate that!!)
