Also, no one mentioned that if you have any infection, yeast or otherwise, the guy could be passing it back to you over and over again.

The guy needs to be treated as well and use a condom when this is all going on, or don't have sex until you feel better.

True, forgot that part. The man does need to be checked and treated as well.

And yogurt wont treat a yeast infection taken orally. It can help prevent one... but if your doctor says to go ahead and get the Diflucan, I would listen to her.

I thought I smelled slightly like fish, but it wasn't strong or unpleasant, and Daddy didn't even notice it and if I smell off he notices, trust me. So. yeah,

BV is a bitch to deal with. Got one after a D&C. Doctor had to prescribe an antibiotic that I was not allergic to. I can tell it was not a yeast because of the strange smell (rotten fish).

You aren't supposed to smell fishy.
That is why I asked in that previous post.

Since you don't have a yeast infection now, I suggested the yogurt.
Also, BV is not typically passed on to men or carried by them.

I was referring to him being tested for yeast.

While I already knew that, thank you for posting that cause some women don't know.

We haven't had sex in months, so there's no need to worry about him having it too, and with as much as my bits are angry with even the slightest touch we will not be fucking while I have this issue going on.

Yup. I did! She also said it was ok to continue to put cold yogurt on and in my vagina if I wished, because it was helping with the pain.

edit for clarity: Although she was posting on the premise it was yeast, after going to the Dr, Lgh learned she doesn't have yeast.

You may want to ask the doctor, I don't have a problem with yeast infections (did have some sort of urinary tract infection), but I do have eczema (aka dermatitis) on my genital area, it can flare, it itches and also can get sore. I was prescribed desonide ointment, which is a low dose steroidal creme, and it works. It may help with the irritation, might be worth a call to the doctor and see what they think (maybe it is not used on the vaginal area, I don't know; according to the dermatologist, the low dose is designed for sensitive areas like the genitals).

Lgh learned she has Bacterial Vaginosis; or BV for short.

And she admitted to having this problem more than once, that it was yeast before. Many women do not know to get their men tested as well as themselves. Which was the point sexyred and I were both making.

And I am glad she agrees with us.

However if I put monistat inside my vagina it burns, it's why the dr always gets me diflucan instead of creams.

I know you said that it's not a yeast infection this time. But when you do have them, which Monistat are you using - the 1-day, the 3-day, or the 7-day version? I get a horrible burning feeling when I use the one-day one too, but for me the 3-day and 7-day aren't too bad.

If you're getting bacterial infections often, you really need to make sure you are really keeping yourself clean. Those people I know who get them often are the type that just don't really seem to take care of their hygiene.

Being overweight can make cleaning up after taking a dump difficult. If you're not using moist wipes to clean up, your underwear could be trapping bacteria and carrying it to the vulva. Also, being overweight causes a lot more sweat to accumulate, and sweat mixed with dead skin cells will breed bacteria if you don't change underwear frequently, or use non-scented powders. Then your underwear will carry it to the vulva.

If you're overweight, your immune system is already compromised because of the stress your body is constantly under and the restricted blood flow. If you get infections (bacterial or yeast) frequently, besides losing weight you could try to boost the immune system. Yogurt will help because the GI tract is the State Capitol of your immune system, but there are also vitamin deficiencies you can look into and supplement.

Your diet is most likely at fault. Since I stopped eating sugar, dairy, most carbs, I have not had one yeast infection, and it's been years. This is an excerpt from the Candida diet. Please read it and don't just rely on meds to fix it, you need to make some serious changes. Listen to what your body is telling you. I modify this because obviously I eat no animals products, but you get the idea.

The Basic Candida Diet Do's and Don't's

Stevia and Stevia Plus are ok as a sugar substitute. However, Xylitol is even better because it is a proven anti-fungal and inhibits candida yeast. It has also been proven to reduce tooth decay in children and adults by reducing bad bacteria. It is very heat stable and makes a great cooking and baking substitute for real sugar. It tastes good, too!
The yeast infection diet calls for NO fruit juices because of the sugar and fructose they contain.
NO Breaded Meats...All others ok.
NO Egg substitutes...Eggs themselves are ok...organic is best since they contain the correct omega fatty acids ratio...with fertile, if you can find them, being the ideal.
NO Margarine and butter substitutes.
On the yeast infection diet, low-fat yogurt (especially made from goats or organic), cream cheese, sour cream made from real cream, unsweetened whipping cream, and butter are all ok. With yogurt, get the lowest sugar content possible.
NO Potatoes and legumes on the yeast infection diet.
Fresh vegetables and freshly made vegetable juice ok
NO Coffee (regular or decaf), NO Diet or regular sodas. Organic or black tea and herbal teas are ok.
Bottled and reverse osmosis filtered water; distilled water is the best for removing toxins but should only be half of the water you drink, freshly squeezed lemonade or lime-ade ok.
On the yeast infection diet, NO Grains are allowed...this includes pasta, rice, corn, wheat, millet, quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, oats, and barley.
Absolutely NO Yeasts allowed...this includes bread, pastries, alcohol, and hydrolyzed yeasts...Read your labels.
NO Pickles, salad dressings, green olives, or soy sauce.
Salad dressings made of olive oil, Braggs apple cider vinegar, water, and lemon juice are ok.
Unpasteurized apple cider vinegar and black olives not aged in vinegar are ok.
NO Partially hydrogenated oils including corn and peanuts.
Coconut oil, olive, grape seed, and flax seed oils in a cold pressed formula when available are ok.
NO Peanuts, peanut products, and pistachio nuts on the yeast infection diet. I would avoid cashews too.
Raw nuts including pecans, almonds, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds are ok.
NO VINEGARS. These include ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, pickles, pickled peppers, hot sauce, salad dressings, green olives, horseradish, dips, and mayonnaise.
NO high sugar fruits are allowed but low sugar fruits are ok if you only have one serving per day. Please see the allowed foods list.
It is best to avoid tuna, swordfish, shark, and shellfish because of high mercury content.
Make sure you eat plenty of fresh vegetables preferably raw or steamed on this yeast infection diet. This is very important on the candida yeast diet because vegetables absorb fungal poisons (mycotoxins) and carry them out of the body.
If you are concerned about weight loss, I suggest you increase the amount of good fat you eat. Fat contains 9 calories per gram, carbohydrates contain 4 calories per gram so a little extra fat goes a long way. Coconut oil liquid or capsules works very well for this, one tbls or 4 capsules contain 130 calories so a tbls at every meal would give you an extra 520 calories a day. Coconut oil also kills yeast and is easily converted to energy by the body.
Do not starve yourself! If you are hungry, eat! But eat the right foods and it will help maintain your weight.
If you have kidney disease, you should consult a physician before you go on the candida diet. The kidneys can have a problem with the protein load of this yeast infection diet. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, you may not be suitable for this candida diet either because of reduced simple carbohydrates. Please consult a doctor before proceeding.

A question Aynne88?
Since the OP currently has Bacterial Vaginosis and not Candida, do those diet recommendations work then as well?
