So once again how then are you or I a party to the constitution? Last time I checked I am not the State.

OK, maybe I'm just a simpleton but it seems to me a government has exactly ONE obligation and that is to itself. It must obtain and retain power. That's it.

Just to clarify. If you are over age 18 and living in this country, and are enjoying the rights of citizenship, then you are bound by the Constitution by your own tacit consent. If you have voted in any election, driven on any public road, paid taxes, obtained a drivers license, you are giving your consent to living here and tacitly abiding by the social compact of the land - State and Federal and that social compact begins with the Constitution of each.
