Phydeaux -> IRS Scandal now reaches Political Appointee (7/18/2013 3:47:25 PM)

So far the democrats defense to the IRS targeting has been - it was only staff employees; it was only employees of the cincinatti branch.

Weeeeellll this:http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/07/18/irs-lawyer-testifies-that-political-appointee-office-involved-in-tea-party/
says it isn't so. That it has now passed on to a political appointee...

Of course this guy will probably fall on his sword.... lets see...

So Lois Lerner....a W appointee.......yeah. Uh that's news? Got any dailymail links to back this up? It turns out that more than nutsucker groups were being scrutinized.

I thought that William Wilkins was an Obama appointee.

#1. Hope you are well Aylee.

Everybody was appointed by somebody, thats for sure:

According to Republicans, Hull revealed to them that he tried to move forward with approving or denying applications, but Lerner ruled that the applications should go through the chief counsel's office and Lerner's senior adviser. According to Republicans, Hull indicated it was the first time in a nearly 50-year career that he had to send applications to Lerner's senior adviser.

Lerner has so far refused to testify. She invoked her Fifth Amendment rights at one hearing, but Republicans later voted that she had in fact waived those rights by delivering a statement.

"We intend to have her back," Issa told Fox News on Wednesday.

There were other fireworks at Thursday's hearing, as Democrats pressed their claims that Inspector General J. Russell George was suppressing details about other non-Tea Party groups being targeted. Democrats on Wednesday trumpeted comments from IRS Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel that George contacted him to object to documents being released that supposedly pertained to other categories of groups experiencing delays.

Some Democrats have argued that liberal groups received similar treatment, though George -- who also testified on Thursday -- has generally denied that they were targeted like conservative groups were.

George revealed on Thursday, though, that there were documents that showed the word "progressive" -- presumably in reference to groups receiving additional screening -- but said he did not get those documents until last week. He appeared to fault the IRS for this delay. He said he was "very disturbed" his office did not receive the documents until last week.

Issa said Thursday that the committee will take up any "credible" accusations pertaining to inspectors general, but as of now "stand solidly behind" their efforts.

Two things:

They will keep pounding on the nutsuckers ONLY end of this, ignoring that it happened to non-nutsuckers, whether right or wrong evenhandedly.

Since Issa is caterwauling here and there and everywhere, it means it is essentially all over, everything he puts his hand to turns to shit.

And the analingus fetishists will keep calling the investigators nutsuckers for as long as they possibly can. Nixon being defended by Alinsky - what is our world coming to.

This needs a special prosecutor.

The shiteaters will wail and gnash their teeth. So what?

Investigators? What investigators?

The Muslim inquisition? Wheres that at?
The ATF inquisition? Wheres that at?
The borrow and spend inquisition? (not gonna happen)
The inquisition into why repealing obamacare for the 39th time is malfeasance and treason? Wheres that at?

They should cut to zero the travel and conference budget for the IRS. I bet that would send a message.

Which teabaggers have the clout to do that, then?

Update:

It seems that the number of political candidates targeted for IRS review is now three, according to this article:

The article has a number of interesting statistics - that the number of layers of beauracy has between the consumer and the head of an agency has increased to 18 from 7 in the late 1960's.

Also, in a previous thread I was derided for saying a government agency prosecutedi someone. I was widely told that I was well, to put it charitably, wrong. Of course, I wasn't. But some statistics are more difficult to find than others. So a second interesting fact in the article:http://www.nationalreview.com/article/353869/name-bureaucrat-john-fund/page/0/1?splash=

Last year, federal agencies conducted more than 939,000 enforcement actions, including trials. That’s ten times the number of trials or similar actions that were held in federal courts.
