Welcome to the forums and thank you for your service.

There are several people here from Florida and I understand that some areas of Florida have a very lively community.

I have found the easiest way to find local events is Fetlife, put your city or area into the search box, then click on groups or events when the search results come up.

Miami and Fort Lauderdale have a fairly active community. Most their events are posted on Fetlife, so look them up there. I'm a few hours north, and we have a lively community here as well.
