A few weeks ago, I was out for coffee with someone and was yammering on about what a tolerant  person I can be, and I think the other person was tired of listening to my endless banter, and they just stared at me and said:

"I know a way to find out just how tolerant you really are. Want to do it?"
(We didn't - I have to be really, really "good" for awhile first...and am not sure I am into being multipully used if I do any version of it) - I am not even supposed to be out of my cage yet (and am breaking some of my own self-imposed rules. Well, maybe not yet and really won't do anything until I am ready so not to worry)...

Then they described a scenario where I could be their pony for a few hours a day, maybe even be a pony up for "auction", and get used by all of the prospective owners and get disciplined harshly for not paying attention to commands soon enough...but -

That has nothing to do with this post (Gosh I really am such a whore lately, I disgust myself. Ignore it (or enjoy it if you do) I am just getting it out of my system (it's been in there for "awhile").

My real question is:

Yesterday I replied to a post that was quite long with what I thought was a reasonable response. But later I re-read the OP's statement and there were sentences in it that almost completely changed (for me) the meaning of their question.

Now I feel like I answered like a self-righteous ass - despite the fact that most of what I said I'd still stick by. This is also a person who is so nice the thought of any kind of chest-thumping holier-than-thou attitude around them just makes me cringe.

I added to my original response later, but the thread is now a lot further down on the page and I doubt she's read it. I'd e-mail her, but don't want to make a big deal out of it - I can't be the only person this has ever happened to - so what to do, if anything? or maybe just know it happens (sorry). - Susan

I can just tell her I guess (sorry i asked for advice I am not following. Normally I am not like that. Well, maybe sometimes I am like that. Hey - just be glad you're not my owner, 'kay?

The person slavejali. She is such a sweetheart - of course I am hoping she enjoys her new car- if anyone deserves a new car it is probably her - she shouldn't feel "guilty" about getting one.

Im not familiar with the new car thread, but...
If you posted recanting your original sentiments, I am sure she will read it.
Slavejali does not seem like the type of person who would lose sleep over another person's opinion of her getting a new car, anyway.
I think you mean "exclaimed" and not "explained" in your title there....you are explaining to jali what happend but you are exclaiming when you say something like "shut up!".
Or maybe I totally misread that and will have to start another thread about how much I regret having misread your OP.

Jimmy Carter would have given us an electric-powered Hummer by now, you know.

Seriously.

Thank you (she is a nice person who strikes me a mature).

The phrase "Shut up, she explained" was originally "Shut up, he explained" and it's from an old Ring Lardner story (it's a joke) - he was an author in the 1920's (I always thought he was pretty funny, his emphasis was the pun).

Also, if anyone is wondering, I am not really going to auction myself off to many people (but it is fun to think about, and if I did, well, some people do like that). I am not ready for anything but I can't seem to stop thinking about it.I am also not trying to "play" w/every - any one. I am just plain getting this out of my system. Please ignore if you don't appreciate (and accept my apology in advance), it isn't meant to annoy or be taken personally.

Coming next: A really hot very short story (stay tuned) - maybe this week, maybe next.
