Rubio could become the first "Anchor Baby President".

Then rather than pass a dream act, one of these little illegals will become president, without interference from the republicans. Or any law whatsoever, they are natural born citizens.

FatDomDaddy -> RE: I like Ted Cruz but he can't be President of the United States (8/19/2013 10:55:27 AM)

If a child is BORN inside of the United States, it doesn't matter whether their parents are or are not a citizen, they are by rights, a citizen. The Dream Act is for children born OUTSIDE of the United States but later brought in illegally by their parents.

Get it?

I wish Cruz would finally face up to this. He is a natural born citizen of the Canada, not the United States. And for the Record, I didn't believe John McCain could have been President either and had he been elected, the country would have gone through a Constitutional Crisis and I believe the Supreme Court would have ruled against him

The faster Cruz puts this to rest the better.

Canada-born Ted Cruz became a citizen of that country as well as U.S.

There is no way that McCain would not be eligible, while widely ignored his status was challenged in 08, he provided proof that the challenge was bogus. His father was in the navy. Both of his parents were US citizens, his father was based in Panama under the command of McCain's grandfather. Any challenge to him would have been laughed out of court.
Dual citizenship would not disqualify Cruz, he clearly chose U S Citizenship when the time came.

I tell ya...sometime the gotcha folks on this site are too much.

The linked article is just the latest in the line of Cruz being foreign born. As such, he is ineligible to be POTUS.

Scholars are not The Supreme Court of the United States and should it ever have to rule, and it increasingly looks as if it may, I have little doubt a natural born citizen will be defined as person who was BORN within the continuous United "States" of America. Not it's protectorates, not it's territories (Unless said territory became a State prior to that person's election), not on the grounds of its Embassies or Consulates. I would imagine, for purposes of legibility a person born upon a United States Ship of War would qualify. You can go back to the founders on this. It's one of the reasons Alexander Hamilton for example could have never been President even though none of the founders were born in the United States of America. Hamilton was born in the British Virgin Islands and not one of the Thirteen Colonies.

Or born of parents who are U S citizens, this was cleared up when Mitt Romney's father ran in 68.

BTW, I say Cruz is eligible but it's gonna be fun to watch the 'Democrat birthers'.[8D]

It's a good thing George Romney didn't get the nomination in 68 instead of Nixon. He was born in a polygamous Mormon colony in Mexico. No one said squat in 68.

Sorry Hill but you are wrong on this one the senior Romney's status was challenged and he was ruled eligible.

given the bullshit surrounding Obamas actual place of birth, even now five years later, be it hawaii, or kenya, even tho his mother was american, the silence is astounding.
FDD...allo :)

What's truly astounding has been the absolute, complete, total and utter silence from the hospital, wherever it was, in which Obama/Soetoro/Soebarkah, the first black POTUS in history, was born. That's the true bullshit surrounding his actual place of birth. That his mother was American is not enough.

Yes it is unless
A she renounced US citizenship while he was a minor.
or
B He accepted citizenship of another country, renouncing U S citizenship.

After I typed that it occurred to me you were pulling someone's chain.
Right now if Jeb Bush ran we would see a thread saying he is ineligible because his wife has relatives who are not citizens.
Funny how some left wingers have spent years telling us how silly birthers are now want to be one.

People bullshit.

President Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 so its a complete moot point.

Clearly the so called "Birthers", no matter how loud they cry, have had no bearing nor impact (other than PR) on Barak Obama's Presidency.

Indeed...people bullshit.

There is no irrefutable evidence in the public domain that Obama was born in Hawaii (or anywhere else for that matter) in 1961 (or any other year for that matter).

Obviously, no matter how loud and often anti-birthers scream bullshit, whether or not birthers have had any bearing or impact on Obama's presidency has absolutely nothing to do with where or when Obama was born and. moreover, whether or not he is eligible to serve as POTUS.

In response to two separate FOIA requests by two different prominent birthers, the Hawaii Department of Health verified in writing that they had no record of anyone associated with Obama's 2008 campaign, the 2008 Democratic Party of Hawaii or the 2008 Democratic National Committee/Convention requesting or paying for a copy of Obama's "Certification Of Live Birth" (short-form bc). CLEARLY that is not birther bullshit but, rather, thus far unrefuted evidence in the public domain that the images thereof posted on the DailyKos, FightTheSmears, FactCheck, Snopes and the White House web-site do in fact depict a phony document.

The image of the photo of Obama's alledged "Certificate Of Live Birth" (long-form bc) taken by Samantha Guthrie and the image of the scan by a White House staffer allegedly of the exact same document have enough visable to the naked eye differences to conclude they cannot possibly depict the same document. Additionally, if not moreover, in violation of Hawaii law, the Hawaii Department of Health's response tg the Arizona Secretary Of State"s questions about Obama's vital records and alleged long-form bc did not include specific answers to a couple specific questions and also did not verify the attached print-out of the image of Obama's long-form bc on the White House web-site as a "true and accurate copy" requested by the AZ SOS and therefore as required by HI law. CLEARLY that also is not birther bullshit but, rather, thus far unrefuted evidence in the public domain that the image alleged to depict Obama's long-form bc does in fact also depict a phony document.

OK, Jim. Your opinion please.

Cruz was definitely born outside the US to an American mother and a non US citizen father.

Is he eligible?

++++++++++++++

There is no irrefutable evidence in the public domain that 'Dutch" Reagan wasn't born in Barry Soetoros hut in Russia.

It is certainly enough. We haven't heard from any hospital about you either. And are not likely to.

Quote and post a link to the controlling legal authority establishing that one U.S. citizen parent is enough to make someone a "natural born citizen". Neither you or anyone else has a need to know from the hospital I was born in. And I am not likely to give the hospital permission to tell you.

mnottertail -> RE: I like Ted Cruz but he can't be President of the United States (8/19/2013 12:19:39 PM)

And your Barry Soetoro as well as Barack Obama no doubt feels exactly the same as you, fuck you and your hospital.

Can you imagine if he had been a home delivery?

Well, since neither the hospital he claims he was born in or anyone who would have attended his birth there has never verified that he was born there...

Simply being born in the Unites States does not make someone a natural born citizen but, rather, only a citizen.
