In today's news, they shut down the American porn industry until they can sort out who infected whom with AIDS. http://www.pressherald.com/news/HIV-test-prompts-porn-film-moratorium.html Personally, I skip any video that has a condom in it. Just like I skip any video that has a guy that doesn't look like me in it. Nor one with a gal that doesn't fit my image of what a sexy gal would be. Just curious what YOU think about condoms in porn movies. Bletch or ?

It makes it hot for me because I can imagine myself doing it. When they don't use condoms, it's still hot, but my range of fantasy is more limited. But then, I only find anal sex hot in porn films, so if it doesn't have that, I skip it anyway.

But for joining the military it's OK to make a risk choice? What load of crap. Anyway, kudos for the moratorium. Hope they straighten in out and get a lid on it successfully.

I'm one that will only cross that line with condoms... never been on the birth control pill, but aside from that I like to stay disease free, thank you. ;) I actually do notice in film if there is a condom or not...I prefer the ones that wear the lil raincoat ;)

I get what you're saying, but the risks in other careers isn't really a factor to it. Like you, I'm in favor of the moratorium until the necessary testing can be done. No need to increase risks when they know the situation has occurred. To the question of the OP, I actually watch very little porn. I'm actually the opposite of you because the stuff that I watch doesn't have anybody that looks like Me. I'm really only interested in male on male porn. I also happen to be in favor of condoms used during production.

If I'm in a committed, fluid bonded relationship, then no condoms. Else, I use them.

Most of the stuff I have involves toys... with bits of bdsm and stuff. What makes good porn good is the actors acting like they're actually enjoying it not whether they have a condom on or not (imo). The difference between the military/fireman/lumberjack is they wear armor/helmets/other prudent safety gear that actually protects them much less than these actors would have been protected by condoms. I'm ex-air force for what it's worth. Granted, I don't have a strong opinion on whether it should be regulated or not.

To me, porn is a fantasy and I dislike the intrusion of real world concerns like that goddamn virus. I don't want my fantasy that I'm fucking my freshman buddy Asia Carrera spoiled by the knowledge that AIDS is slowly killing my oldest friend. That being said, the moratorium is absolutely necessary and, sadly, so is condom use until the industry itself instills universally stringent testing requirements. From what I understand, big companies like Vivid do insist on recent testing and documentation, but I strongly suspect that websites are far less careful. Then again, there is no way to compensate for simple human stupidity.

Sure, there are risks in every industry, but the expectation is that the employer impose measures to reduce and manage risk. My boys aren't allowed to work without safety boots and gloves. Construction workers wear hard hats. Cops wear Kevlar vests. Porn stars wear condoms. Do any of those measures eliminate the risks? Nope. Are the employees aware that they take risks every day? Yep. Still makes sense to reduce risk where practicable.

bella donna was quoted once with saying every pornstar has herpes.... that would have been largely preventable if testing a few years ago covered that and people wore protection. with hiv even if someone has it you dont have to wear protection. the virus has a dormancy period before it actually infects the person, if the person exposed is given the antivirals within the time frame(it was something like 24-48 hours) than the virus in their body is killed before it infects them. if they dont want porn stars to wear condoms they should just require that they all be on antivirals... sure those things suck but if its only an issue of "looking good"....

Seems like there were a gazillion procedures to mitigate risk in the USAF. I'm for condom use in porn. When I lived in South Florida, which has the nation's highest per-capita HIV/AIDS infection rate, I could not believe potential partner's attitudes towards (lack of) condom use. Porn as a PSA - yay!
