MariaB -> RE: Violet Wands - what do people think (9/13/2013 1:26:32 PM)

Steve came home with a violet wand that he picked up in a second hand shop today. He paid 25 Euros for it.
Its probably around 100 years old and is is encased in ebony. The wand handle looks like its ebony too and the box that carries it says it was made in Germany. Its got 8 glass tools and one metal rod.

Its a beautiful thing to look at and not like a violet wand I have ever seen before. Steve will probably tinker with it because that's what he does but I would just be happy to keep it as a piece of art!

Hi All

I was interested to know of peoples views and experiences of Violet Wands. Whether they be the modern solid state ones, or the more powerful electro mechanical medical devices.

This could be anything, from receiving or giving, owning or any technical/operational questions you may have

:) Wunnahful :)

NickandMorphia -> RE: Violet Wands - what do people think (9/14/2013 4:03:55 PM)

Hi Malcolm

Well, we do the older classic and vintange ones, fully restored inside and out. They are electro mechanical rather than transistor/solid state - so feel very different to the modern ones and far more powerful

I hate to plug (love it really) so view them on http://www.nickandmorphia.com/violetwands.asp

Please note, they are not toys and have to be treated with respect

NickandMorphia -> RE: Violet Wands - what do people think (9/14/2013 4:06:58 PM)

MariaB

You can pay virtually nothing for these devices - but beauty and condition is what costs.

I hope you do not use it until steve has fully tested and restored it - if you have any questions then please just ask

good luck

GotSteel -> RE: Violet Wands - what do people think (9/14/2013 7:21:52 PM)

Hey, while your answering questions I've never really been able to get a straight answer on this. When I ask over on fetlife it seems like things degenerate to people calling liar at each other.

What exactly is the difference (if any) between a BD-10A and a modern violet wand?

Steve is an electrical engineer. He has done a continuity and insulation tests on it so far. He needs to re-wire the power in and power out cables. He will probably have a chat to you at some point but Steve's projects sometimes get put aside :(

Hi - a good question.

The BD10 is actually not designed as a violet wand. It is an electrical leak detecor but since it operates on the same principles as the older "electro medical" violet wands, is simply re branded and re packaged (with all the extra bits) as fetish. The older ones are pretty good, but they do have the disadvantage than when you change the angle of the hand piece, power either goes down or up as gravity affects the tremblers/contact breakers.

Alas, the so called modern violet wands are actually cosmetic devices designed to improve your facial complextion at the hairdressers. They are then re branded as fetish/bdsm devices but are basically gutless and bear no resemblence to the original violet wants at all. You will waste your money buying one of these, despite the fact that they are cheap. You can bulk buy the device from China or the Ukraine for around $35.

The ancient ones you see - like ours - are far more powerful than any modern device and in the larger sets, contain glass electrodes which people would only dream of. However, because ours are fully restored, they are not cheap. If you ever buy an old device, get it checked out first before you actually use it.

I hope thats of help

All the best - Nick

Delilya -> RE: Violet Wands - what do people think (9/15/2013 6:52:19 PM)

They are way out of my budget, but I am lucky enough to have friends who let me use theirs at parties. Love it!

Thanks for the information, that's what I was asking. I so wasn't talking about the solid state wands. Despite all the hype I've heard from vendors those things are useless. I can't believe people are willing to spend their reputations promoting them.

Greta75 -> RE: Violet Wands - what do people think (9/16/2013 8:36:51 AM)

I have a question. I have something similar, Electrastim, which basically also electric shocks you. I have an attachment where I can insert right inside my pussy, as well as something to stimulate the clit with the shock waves.
But seriously...., other than lots of discomfort, and electric shock by the way, is actually painful, I can't orgase with it. Do people actually orgase with it?

This is what I have: http://www.electrastim.co.uk/index2.html

angelikaJ -> RE: Violet Wands - what do people think (9/16/2013 9:14:30 AM)

I have no experience with these or other E-stim play.

I have read about it.

As I understand it on lower settings it is not supposed to be painful.
Is it possible your unit is defective, if the lowest setting is too high for you?

ChaoticRacer -> RE: Violet Wands - what do people think (9/16/2013 2:12:01 PM)

Had my first experience with one on Saturday, just a brief demonstration but it was definately awesome!

Thanks for that - I do try and give objective answers.

You are right about the solid state ones, I am glad this has been brought up again as so many people are being misled and its a shame as Violet Wands can be so much fun.

All the best - Nick

Just a plug but here is the home page for our web site, with information about violet wands, etc. http://www.nickandmorphia.com

Violet Wands are so different from the E Stim or similar devices. E Stim or TENS Units stimulate the muscles which is what they are designed to do

Violet Wands stimulate the skin and do not affect the muscles due to the nature of the electricity they produce.

They are a product of late victorian technology and were developed in the early 1920s as medical devices. They produce a high frequency, high voltage energy (low current) which stimulates the skin rather than stimulating the muscles. So as a result they can be used over most parts of the body with a zappy electrifying feeling. At mild settings they are simply tickly, at higher settings they are like being tattoed.

I am talking here of the restored electro mechanical devices from the last century and NOT the solid state cosmetic devices often re branded as fetish/bdsm which give a rather underpowered nonsense of a sensation.

Yes, the electrastim is similar to the E stim. It contracts muscles and then releases them on a cycle of so many seconds or fractions of - or even a mixed cycle, like waves striking a beach, etc, etc. Its an aquired taste but in the right hands and with the right psychology it can be very stimulating indeed.

Violet wands are very different. They stimulate the skin rather than the muscles and so you can get at the lowest levels, a tickling sensation, or at the highest level, a stabbing sensation, like being tattoed. Again, its the righ mind set and who is using in on you which is important.

Please also do not confuse the traditional violet wand (electro mechanical, last centry) with modern solid state cosmetic devices which are passed off as fetish/bdsm. These are totally gutless and do not give that pleasing sensation that you get from a classic or vintage device.

I hope thats of help

The vagina insertion attachment of this device, which is like an egg vib, definitely gives a stabbing sensation though. And if you hold the device on your hands, it's like exactly how it is when you get electric shock through the main wall socket.

Lowest level can be tickling I guess, and I don't enjoy tickling.

I guess for me, I love vibrations, I love my magic wand. When I got this, I thought it was gonna be something with stronger vibration than the magic wand. But what I realise is, the vibration isn't as strong, but it's like vibration with zapping pain. Tolerable pain, but yea, trying to figure how to use it to even get an orgasm. I guess it's just a torture device, not very useful for self-pleasure.

Hi Ya

I do not think this is a violet wand - do you have a pic you can send me or post a link or pic

It isn't a violet wand.

It is another type of e-stim device.

Yup, the attachments are here, I got the tadpole and the Halo. I can't take the Halo at all on the clit, even on lowest frequency, the electric shock is painful. And I am someone who is immune to the Hitachi Magic wand, as even it's vibrations lately is not strong enough. The tadpole just feel like lighting zapping inside your vagina. Like stabbing, needle pricking you inside. But I've always been less sensitive inside my vagina. I don't have the violet wand to compare but I am wondering if the violet wand could bring orgasms.
