LittleGirlHeart -> What is the best way to keep your face clean and zit free when it comes to pillow cases? (9/19/2013 3:11:43 PM)

like what, a new one each day, or keep your hair off the pillow case?

I notice i am getting zips and black heads and nasties on my face where it's on the pillow and i used to never get that.

I've never heard of pillow cases contributing to bad skin. Have you changed your diet recently?

Changed diet? Changed laundry detergent? Changed soap? Changed makeup? Changed your pillowcase or pillow material?

Aren't you like 300lbs or something?

First thing, change your diet. Start eating clean and a balanced diet, also start drinking lots and lots of water. Start exercising too, if you already don't.

In the shower, use something like neutrogena face wash daily in the shower. That will keep it looking great.

I havent had a zit, blackhead, spot whatever in 15 years lol.

If you look after your body, it'll look after you.

Wash your hair as often as it needs it, if you think your oily hair is causing an issue with the pillow case.
It sounds like you are someone who should wash their hair every day.

Hormones can have a lot to do with acne, as can stress.
Stress can also lead to face picking or rubbing... which can aggravate skin and cause acne.

If you sweat a lot in your sleep and your face is against the pillow all night, all that oil and sweat has no where to go aside from your pores. Changing your pillow case more often is a smart thing to do. Perhaps try using cotton pillow cases rather than other materials?

Also try washing your face more frequently and buy face washes while you're at it. They won't work immediately but if you kept at it once or twice a day, it'll help. Or if you're into more natural treatments, I've read witch-hazel helps but it can really dry out your skin if you're not careful enough.

Try once or twice a week for now.

I wash my pillowcases about once per week. They are 100% cotton. On days that I don't shampoo, I still wash my face.

I do not have "greasy" or oily hair.

I have normal to dry hair.
For my hair to be at it's best, it needs to be washed every other day.
The day I do not wash it in the shower, I usually wet it and apply a lightweight, non- oily conditioner, and then rinse it thoroughly.

You wash your hair every two weeks ? That is gross. Wouldn't you wash it everyday when you shower ?

slavekate80 -> RE: What is the best way to keep your face clean and zit free when it comes to pillow cases? (9/19/2013 7:42:36 PM)

Washing your hair every other day is going to keep it much cleaner than every other week. I wash mine every day, but every other day is usually fine too. Much less than that and you're going to be getting oil on the pillowcases even if you wash the cases frequently.

I don't know how often cleaning pillowcases is needed. I throw mine in the washer with the sheets about once a week.

MistressDarkArt -> RE: What is the best way to keep your face clean and zit free when it comes to pillow cases? (9/19/2013 9:34:56 PM)

Wash your face twice a day with shampoo (yes, the kind you use on your head) and something scrubby like a loofa or salux cloth. Wash your hair several times a week, and change your pillow cases each week along with your sheets.

No matter how down in the dumps you get, daily personal hygiene should be your first priority.

FR:

Washing your hair too often is bad for it, as it strips hair of its natural oils. Going days w/o washing is actually good -- for your hair. It's not great if you have scalp issues, like dandruff, and it can be bad for the face, since all those natural oils transfer themselves to the skin.

Unless you keep your hair very short, you shouldn't wash it every day. Every 3-4 days is much better for it.

I have baby fine, fragile hair that I wash twice a week. If you have thicker hair (each individual strand is thick) you can wash more often without damaging the hair shaft.

As for the OP: Please find someone who can help you with these basics. You need structure in your life, and you're too depressed to provide it.
