The former President was an official witness for the marriage of two lesbian friends in Maine. I never thought I'd see anything like that in my lifetime.

It kind of shows how far right the GOP has gotten, Bush I was not exactly a liberal democrat, but compared to much of the mean spirited rhetoric of the GOP, he almost appears to be in comparison. It is little things like this that often help change people's minds, that a simple act like this can tell people everyone is human:).
