quote:
ORIGINAL: Hillwilliam You need to add "I have defended myself with a firearm and not killed anyone in the process" Some people assume that if you defend yourself with a weapon that someone was injured/killed. In the vast majority of cases, this is untrue. I changed the first one in order to fit this, I opened the pool because in that kind of threads a kind of frequent asked question begins with "would you really end a life..." sometimes the question is retorical, so maybe knowing how big is the share of person that had to go through that process, I don't know, can give a better awareness of how many don't consider that question hypotetical or retorical. The pool was about actually ending a life so I corrected the first one to include the case in which the theft/aggressor got away when challenged, the point was not about if it's opportune to carry a gun or not, that depends on too many things.
