heres a thread I started at "informed" consent which started about gags. Still curious though!

moving on from the gag thing, from my posts I have dom fetish for silk; especially scarves (dont know if thats always a good thing lol!). Theres something about a submissive lady tied up with silk. I also love to see a dom or sub wearing one too.

I would not call it a fetish for myself, but I like being tied up with silk ties (just tried this for the first time about a week ago...smiles)

While silk ropes can be erotic, there is a risk with silk scarves.  When silk is pulled tight, it can form sharp edges.  People who use scarves should keep this in mind if the bondage envolves struggling

I had this happen to me.  I was experimenting back then, the man i was with used scarves in our scene........a few other things were done, i struggled and then screamed at the top of my lungs to let me go.  The scarves had cut into my wrists...they were not deep cuts, but enough to cause blood and feel like paper cuts.   While i am certainly not opposed to being tied up....screaming at the top of my lungs....being cut....seeing blood......there's a difference between good pain and i'm going to kill you if you don't get this off me right now pain.

I love silk, but the risk from tight silk is too great.  I am not a fan of blood and cuts.  I now go to the fabric department of WalMart and purchase 100% (or as close as I can get) cotton material by the yard and cut it in 2 inch strips.  I wet them down then I tie them snugly but not tightly.  Since cotton shrinks, the bonds become tighter as the material dries.  If you tie knots, they become virtually impossible to untie.  Keep a pair of scissors handy just in case.  This has always been an interesting thing for me to do as people seem genuinely suprised that the bonds became so tight they had to be cut off...Usually they are perplexed as to why I wet them in the first place.  It serves as a mild mindf**k.
