msmorganchase -> FINDOM PSA - STAYING SENSIBLE DURING SHUTDOWN... (10/1/2013 4:24:03 AM)

FOR THOSE WHO PARTICIPATE IN FINANCIAL DOMINATION:

The U.S. Government partially shutdown early this Tuesday morning and will be affecting a large amount of users of this site. This does not only include some government services and benefits but paychecks as well. Those holding "non-essential" positions in a government office will be furloughed WITHOUT PAY as of this moment. U.S. Veterans, like Myself, will only be receiving guaranteed benefits for the month of October. Only the U.S. military and civilian sector jobs will be guaranteed a paycheck until these government issues have been resolved.

LADIES - Check with your slaves, ensure that they are not being over-strained financially resulting in a forfeit of any contracts or dismissal of servitude. This is something beyond even a Domme's control.

SUBS - Your UK Domme or a Domme from another country may not be aware of this - LET THEM KNOW. Explain respectfully your situation or potential hardships you may be facing. This should not be an issue of disobedience. If they take an issue with the possible loss of your finances that is BEYOND CONTROL than that is not someone you should be submitting to.

This may end in a month, or it may end tomorrow. This is not the first time our government has had such a crisis. Be aware and keep yourselves updated until things resume normally. Again, this is an extreme circumstance that takes precedence over online financial domination everyone...Let's be sensible.

I'm stepping up to be an advocate on this because I am personally affected and so are some of those serving Me and we have been preparing for it to happen for quite a while. I anticipate that, unless addressed, a lot of users will be put between a rock and a hard place at the hands of an obtuse owner.

Well hopefully this thread will garner some interest in your profile and you can still make rent this month.

You're a vet at the age of 22? I didn't realize vets with four years of service got benefits.

I actually thought this was intended as humor... Sometimes I'm not the sharpest bulb on the tree.

DarkSteven:

Military members with less than six months' service tend to be given an Entry Level Separation, with no benefits of any kind, including no status as a veteran. Vets with six months or more tend to get, at minimum, healthcare benefits for service related disabilities, regardless of the length of their service. (What's counted as disabilities can sometimes be astounding.)

With more than six months, but less than a full career, one can certainly be retired and be eligible for healthcare and financial benefits. Usually these are people with injuries severe enough to preclude their continued service, It's possible that the "Up or Out" policy's extension to the enlisted ranks may have had some impact on this. I just am not sure about that particular aspect.
