I've been in the same boat for a few years now. As a fiddler/pianist/guitar and accordion player, the day the hands go is the day the music ends. I understand and sympathize with your fear and frustration.

**Nsaids are great if you can have them. I no longer can, so use the following along with finger/hand exercises. Tart or montmorency cherry juice. Gluco/chondroitin. Warming liniments that contain wintergreen oil (methyl salicylate) or capsaicin. High CBD cannabis tincture used externally. 480nm cold laser (ebay, around ~$20 buy it now). Hand massage, acupuncture and epsom salt soaks.

Hoping you find relief.

**I used diclofenac for more than 15 years. It worked great for pain, but burned bleeding ulcers in my small intestine until I became so sick and anemic I was hospitalized. Frequent use of nsaids requires caution and monitoring.

Here's a really good article for people who are new to yoga about why people with OA and RA should try yoga: http://www.hopkinsarthritis.org/patient-corner/disease-management/yoga-for-arthritis/

As a doctor who specializes in repetitive injuries for the last 40 years (I have many musicians in my practice) Gluosamine is much better than Chondroitin.
But nobody talks about how osteoarthritis comes about! Or the influence of what we put in our mouth as the culprit. Too afraid of the responsibility I suppose. We are so addicted to our food - sugars, and pharmaceuticals of course. Just take a drug or an injection and it will all go away. For a while. While you're getting worse. Drugs CURE (like a pickle) they do not HEAL. Healing comes from learning - not from a bottle of drugs.

Usually using a prevention method also helps in the treatment. Hyaluronic Acid comes to mind, Lots of Vitamin D, K and of course F (the right plant-based fatty acids - Omega-3). I suggest that you remove flesh from your lifestyle as it forces CALCIUM to be urinated out (its a buffering thing) in droves - everyday. After 30-50 years eating too much flesh, caffeine and other junk - you will lose a lot more calcium and enzymes then you can take in. Hence osteoarthritis. Time to go back to green. I suggest the Wulzen Factor as well - everyday.

Arthritis occurs when your body attacks itself. You damage your cartilage from stress or disease and it creates dislodged particles.

Your immune systems detects the damaged particles and reports it to memory T-cells.

Memory T-cells signal the attack and removal of dislodged cartilage particles.

Arthritis starts when memory T-cells malfunction. They continue the attack after dislodged particles are gone and start attacking healthy cartilage.

Healthy cartilage destruction results in joint erosion, pain, stiffness and inflammation. This is when you realize you have arthritis, long after the initial process started.

Dr. Sands discovery cures arthritis by providing the fatty acid nutrients needed to refresh the memory T-calls and stop the attack signal. It refreshes the immune system and stops the attack.

Once the attack stops, joint erosion, pain, stiffness and inflammation stop. You are cured and have no further need to take arthritis medicine or Dr. Sands' discovery. You are cured and now your body has a chance to heal itself.
