let's see : your average person has about 8 liters of blood moving through their system. an alcohol level of 0.1% means of those 8 liters, 8ml are pure alcohol. 7% by volume wine would mean 114 ml of wine contain 8 ml of pure alcohol. Therefore, 1 glass of wine, even if it magically gets absorbed instantaneously in the blood stream (which is not really the case) would put a person 1/4 of the way towards being drunk.

now, the flurry of news articles about binge drinking in college in the us impress me little, because the us media is notorious for making "socially conscious" crap up. i was thinking more along the lines of actual medical studies when i was asking for references.

You need to do your research, zenofeller, before your advice kills somebody.  Taking alcohol anally is a good way to induce alcohol toxicity (poisoning) and death.  Here's a link to an article written by Jay Wiseman himself.  Not that he's the end-all authority on everything, but he's up there.

Sure, putting a glass of wine up there probably won't do more than make the person silly or fall asleep.  But you have to remember, a lot of people read these, and, based on what you're blabbering, are going to think it's a dandy idea to put a fifth of vodka or something similar up there. 

Unless you're an M.D. or D.O., you should NOT be giving out medical advice on a public chat board....for the love of God.

I'm totally drug free for a very good reason.

And I prefer not to use chemical agents that will damage the human body. Legal,or not.

After doing a Google search for "alcohol enemas" I came up with a list of articles, ALL of which talk of the effects of alcohol being given in an enema, and that the figures you are using are based on it being injested and passed through the stomach and other "filtering" parts of the body.  Try checking this out, it is just one of the articles I pulled up but it does explain it very well.

I realize that the laws might be different where you are from, but no matter where you are from, endangering your property in this way is just begging for a visit to the hospital and possibly explaining it to the local law enforcement. As this woman is trying to.

zenofeller, I do not mean to say you are unsafe, or not aware of what you do, I am trying to amke a point as to how truely dangerous this practice can be.  I must admit it did hold an interet to me, and all my research on the matter has made me decide not to even try it.  If you have been giving them and not had a problem, imho you have been lucky, and I hope you continue to be. 
As to people not finding reports of deaths or hospitalizations resulting from this practice, I would submit it is easier to allow medical personet to assume it was from binge drinking rather that from an administered enema, again, just my opinion.

ok let me make myself perfectly clear. i am not discussing oppinions, what someone's cousin thinks, what someone overheard a medical doctor say or what jeeves answers. i am discussing facts. as follows :

fact 1. The average person contains about 8 liters of blood.
fact 2. In most jurisdictions, 0.1% alcohol in blood is considered the legal limit for driving.
fact 3. 0.1% per volume of 8 liters means 8 mili liters.
fact 4. One glass of wine, at 7% alcohol content by volume, contains less than 8 mili liters of alcohol.
fact 5. Injecting intravenously 8 mili liters of chemically pure ethilic alcohol, neglecting local irritation effects and such, will put a person close to the limit descrubed in fact 2.
fact 6. The effect on the bloodstream of placing any liquid in the rectum is inferior to the effect on the blood stream of injecting that same liquid intravenously.

Therefore

fact 7. An enema consisting of 1 glass of wine, or less than 114 ml by volume, is going to at most put one average person at the legal limit for driving in most jurisdictions.

If anyone wants to dispute these facts, I'd like to hear it.

Nodding,individual body chemistries don't allow me to be too cavailier about how I view such things. Better to err on the side of caution, than to throw someone's welfare to fickle fate-not knowing the outcome.

Then again,I practice risk aware consensual kink-but not before I know actual limitations about a person first-and even so ,I take very little for granted.

Which is why I am a safe top.....

Rather than a jailed one.

Erring on the side of cauting would be saying "be sure to never exceed prescribed dosage". Erring on the side of stupidity would be saying "I read on teh internets that people can die in their sleep so I'm never sleeping again.

Excellent point.

I quit doing it years ago basically because having that little paper umbrella sticking out of my ass just plain looked stupid.
