Having a MISERABLE time finding a good bra.
I am on the petite size. But not super thin. Meaning , I am 5'2". But wear a size 10-12 and a 38C. I Have been properly sized by a lingerie specialist.
My problem; Every dang "perfect " bra. SUCKS!! either too much padding( def don't need). But if are they unpadded, nip galore.
Anyone have a bra style or brand that they absolutely love? I know we are all shaped differently. But would welcome any of your "boobie trap" favorites.

I also really don't want to spend $100 on a bra.

i spent an entire day and came away with NOTHING.

Help?

Oh. And down boys..just because I said "boobie" doesn't mean I need a sexy lingerie lesson. Those are for looks and aren't meant too look good under clothing, and they usually don't stay on long. The ladies here know what I mean. Lol

I wish I could help you, but at a 36G I have a whole different set of problems!

I'm surprised about the padding issue though, I see quite a lot of bras that are moulded - so thick enough not to show nipple, but not so thick as to add much volume.

On the plus side, winter is coming, and nipples don't show through chunky sweaters!

I like racer-back bras, which most companies only make up to a 38. Since I'm a 42, I had to scour the internet until I found these, the first of which has no padding but enough fabric to tame the nips. I was in Florida when I got the padded ones, and cut the padding out, as it was too hot.

They come in your size, which may be in stock at a Kohl's store.

For non-racer-back bras, I've had surprisingly good luck at WalMart. Curvation is surprisingly comfy for a bra with underwires. I also have a Fruit-of-the-Loom, which is not terribly comfy, but is cut low enough to fit under the shirt for which I need it.

Get a bra fitting. You aren't too far from AC... I'm sure there are places you can go to have this done. Then... once you've tried on several that really fit you, figure out what companies / styles you like. You can then order on line later. Out of respect for the folks that help you, it would be appropriate to buy at least one or two from them.

*ETA: I see you did this. Sorry!

And as a hint... nursing bras... access without the removal... [;)] ... or so I've heard...

ETA: I like shock absorbers... but then I'm an endurance athlete... But... I often wear them to work too because, although there is nothing PRETTY about them, I feel GREAT at the end of the day!

Yay.

My girl has good results with ordering from Woman Within.

TNDommeK -> RE: Ok Ladies....i. Need help with "the girls" (10/30/2013 11:18:03 AM)

I'm with Athena on this one. I'm a 38 E....good luck.
I just find a 38DD and deal with the size. I pop out the top, but I refuse to wear a granny bra. They DO NOT fit me right.

AAkasha -> RE: Ok Ladies....i. Need help with "the girls" (10/30/2013 11:40:42 AM)

I have found Natori to be a great brand. Prices can vary. That's what they fitted me with at Nordstrom but you can find them a lot cheaper online or at many other stores and in a ton of styles. They are very well made.

40DDD
I used to wear the Maximum Support by Lilyette. Bastards discontinued it.
Haven't found a decent substitute yet although I've read that Venus of Cortland makes a similar model. Back ordered when I went looking though.

here in Rochester, we have a lingerie boutique. They are surprisingly affordable and not only do they measure you, but once you pick your bra/s, they will tailor the bra for you at no cost.  I'm a 42dd and these are the best bras I have ever worn.  The ones I like are $55.  But their prices range from $30 to about $75.  I realize $55 is a bit expensive compared to some stores (Walmart, etc) but I beat the hell out of my bras and these really hold up.

Do you have anything like that near you?  If so, it's worth a visit to see what options they have.

I was fitted at a Nordstrom department store and it made all the difference. I wear a size 42G and it's very difficult to find a pretty bra in that size. Wacoal has lovely styles in larger sizes but expect to pay up to $80. For me, it's worth it. At my age the girls are sagging and a good fitting bra is a must.

I did exactly that. I got sized. Measured. Turns out I was actually wearing the wrong bra size ( I HATE when Oprah is right. Damn)
But. None of the bras in the shi shi lingerie shoppe really fit all that well. And they looked AWFUL under a smooth t-shirt.
Ive added all the brands and companies suggested here, and off on Sat to try once again!!

You ladies ( and the one or two men) rock.

I saw a programme on the telly that revealed that most women were wearing the wrong bra size, Margaret. I was flabbergasted, actually: I'd always heard that the wrong bra size made things really uncomfortable. But, then, women seem to be used to wearing uncomfortable clothing: with shoes, for instance, it seems to be the price one needs to pay in order to look good.

Thank you Kalikshama!!I. I HATE any type of running because my boobs bounce so much that it hurts!! None of the sports bras seem to stop it & someone said I should try to wear 2 or 3 sports bras at once. Too much trouble!!

Anyone watch "Double Divas"? Great show about two women who run a bra store in GA! I was floored by the number of women who never get the right bra and how much thinner you immediately look with the right bra!

theshytype -> RE: Ok Ladies....i. Need help with "the girls" (10/30/2013 5:10:46 PM)

I can't help (I'm not too far from the beginning of the alphabet) but I'm with you on the padded bras.
It seems that the majority of bras have some form of padding in them, which I hate and would (and have) rather go braless. I also prefer unlined, which I have difficulty finding.
Bras just suck IMO.

I love those women!

DesFIP -> RE: Ok Ladies....i. Need help with "the girls" (10/30/2013 6:02:55 PM)

They make a tee shirt bra. They didn't feel right to me though.

Whenever I really need new bras, I go to the Maidenform outlet shop in Woodbury Commons and let the clerks there dig up anything they think might fit. It's a lot of trying on and it all depends on what they've gotten in that week.

The last time, nothing really fit right. I'm frequently pulling down the back. But I so hate trying things on that I'll deal with it for now.
