I'm doing some research on alternative lifestyles for a piece I'm writing for NaNoWriMo... I stumbled across something. I've certainly heard of it, but I found this article fascinating. It speaks of people with Asperger's being a fair percentage of the people who self-identify as OS (people who are sexually attracted to and maintain emotional "relationships" with inanimate objects). It made me wonder whether the difficulties with cultural norms and interpersonal skills might lead folks to this type of "sexual orientation".

best,
sunshine

Hmm, reminds me of the kid that won't settle down without a certain stuffed animal.

Hmmm I'm a guy with mild Asperger's syndrome and I've never been into sex with inanimate objects.

I prefer my sexual partners to fight back a little more

Then again, I'm not affected by the social and interpersonal issues most Aspergers people face, and I'm mostly unaffected now.

I just find this odd!

Wait a minute... it sounds like you are talking about "plushies". And plushies are not necessarily related to furries. (Sometimes I wonder about Bronies though)
