TheHeretic -> Something for liberals to be proud of (11/9/2013 10:41:54 AM)

The link is HuffnPoo, to take source whining out of the O'bots' toolbag.

quote:

A new book on the 2012 presidential campaign claims that President Barack Obama told aides that he is "really good at killing people." According to Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, the authors of Double Down: Game Change 2012, Obama made the comment while discussing drone strikes last year.

A surprising strength, is how the President described it.

How's that hopey changy stuff workin' out for you?

Our enemies ... fuck yeah he is......which you seem to have a problem with....

Old story tho...but irrational hate has no shelf life.....

Our President has been extremely affective at combatting those who plan and carry out attacks against us and our friends....

Yes....we are very proud...

The cons?.....[sm=anger.gif]

TheHeretic -> RE: Something for liberals to be proud of (11/9/2013 11:33:35 AM)

The question was to liberals, Owner59.

PeonForHer -> RE: Something for liberals to be proud of (11/9/2013 11:43:26 AM)

He might be good at killing, but he's vacillated in a suspiciously limp-wristed way when it's come to torturing, IMO. In all, I suspect his schlong probably isn't as big as was Dubyer's.

Well, liberals would know a lot more about Obama's penis than I would. I prefer vagina. [;)]

The hopey changey stuff is working great for me, actually. Thanks to legislation passed by President obama, I can actually afford my student loan payments.

Well done, TH! I always knew that you could achieve heterosexuality if you tried hard enough. [:)]

Nah. Still heteroflexible enough to let you blow me, if you get me drunk, first. [:D]

Isn't that the same Obama who got the Nobel Peace prize ?

Good for you. So we can put you on record as not caring if the President orders people killed, or will that just be if you like the letter by his name?

LittleForDaddy31 -> RE: Something for liberals to be proud of (11/9/2013 12:13:29 PM)

I certainly don't agree with drone attacks. Also, I love how quickly the conversation de-volved to genital-speak.

The very same.

Looking at it in context, Rich, doesn't seem like he was bragging. Any number of possibilities from sad to sardonic. Guess you had to be there. The printed word doesn't always portray meaning and intent.

Obama didn't need to run through this preamble. Everyone knew the litany of his achievements. Foremost on that day, with the fresh news about al-Awlaki, it seemed the president was pondering the drone program that he had expanded so dramatically and with such lethal results, as well as the death of Bin Laden, which was still resonating worldwide months later. "Turns out I'm really good at killing people," Obama said quietly, "Didn't know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine."

I never said he was bragging, Vince. I'm aware that spin is out there, but you'll note I went with the HuffnPoo link, rather than something with the opinion you seem to be trying to assign.

EdBowie -> RE: Something for liberals to be proud of (11/9/2013 12:46:44 PM)

Does this come from the same school of thought that refusing to give the whole world all of our military and intelligence secrets in the name of 'transparency' is "LYING"??

Not so well but not for anything contained here. I had sort of hoped he'd try to reign in wall street and the 1%. I had sort of hoped he'd be a little more interested in concepts like "due process" and "privacy" and, for that matter, "transparency".

But this? What has "being good at killing people" got to do with anything. You'd damned well better be good at killing people if you're going to be president of the US. I'd be interested to see the full quote with context but I suspect none of it would bother me.

Fair enough, Rich. Maybe it was your 'hopey changey stuff" comment that mislead me into thinking I had stumbled into a sarcasm twilight zone. [:D]

Yet I`m proud and a liberal.....[:D]

No one has an obligation to entertain your fairytales or acknowledge your fantasies as reality....

The laughable part is the nutters in your party claiming the president is helping our Muslim enemies, hurting Israel,etc...

At least we don`t have a president and party turning our proud nation into a torture nation.....

The vice torturer used to muse that the the gop torture program was "keeping America safe"......

Yet we`ve not had any 9/11 type attacks on us and without the gop torture program they were so proud of......

It`s definitely the President`s success that`s got the hater`s panties in a bunch......[:D]

They just don`t know what to do or how to feel about it......like normal folks do...

That's a pretty ignorant misperception, Vince. Maybe the problem is that you don't see the distinction between liberals who got suckered into thinking Obama shared their values, and those who just claim whatever values they are given on a typical day? That would explain why you think that because I raise an issue in the forum, my take on it is that given by others, too.
