i also weigh way less than you. i am 298 at this point and you're profile lists yu at almost 400. even when i was 320 that's way less weight. so our situations are completely different, and our drs are totally different. so that is a big part of it.

My doctor actually refused to do any type of birth control besides an IUD due to my weight.

They have a type that doesn't require surgery. I think it's called Essure.

Unless and until you have a medical degree, AND someone asks you, it's really not your place to pressure someone else into surgery. She doesn't want it.

There are all sorts of law suits regarding that one. Erin Brockovich has begun a class action.

You do not have the right to second guess someone else's personal medical decisions that they arrived at with their doctor.
What may be true for you is not necessarily true for other people even if you think it is.

Depo-Provera (the shot) is wonderful. It's taken every three months - so you don't have to worry about accidentally skipping a dose, you can plan that shit - and for me in CO it costs $80 per visit at Planned Parenthood without insurance. With insurance, I have a $20 co-pay.

Caveat: My mom (with whom I obviously share a lot of physical traits) has been on Depo for years, and she blames this shot for a reduced calcium level and subsequent bone density. We already have terrible teeth, and women are more prone to osteoporosis after having given birth, but there may be some truth to it.

That's true. But depo really isn't intended for long term use.

Over here, it is promoted as a long-term contraceptive.

But, like any drug on the market, if you suffer any of the side effects, you should stop using it and consult your physician.

Osteoporosis is one suspected side effect and a lot of women don't suffer from it even after prolonged use of Depo.
It's just one of those carousel's of life.
You are either Ok on it or you aren't.
But to use any side-effect of a drug as a scaremongering tactic for others is just bad.
If you have an issue with it, that's fair comment; but don't extrapolate that into a generalization.

no, if you really do weigh 348 and I weigh 298, that;s not 25 pounds. that's more like a 45 pound difference. 298 plys 45 is 343 and 5 more than that is 348.. if the calculater on google is working right my pc is fucked up and running wrong so some functions are off. and our measuremnts are different yes, but that's due to how we carry fat differently, because you look fatter than me on fetlife. Snd you tell me all the time j likes you because you weigh in so heavy and he has a fetish for ssbw. ssbw's are not 298 320.

And no every one that's not a barb or a sling or "dirty laundry" we have seen each others fet life pics.

I was only 45 lbs more than you to begin with. And I've lost some from moving and stress and all. Puking lots lately.

Also, insertion is really painful.

It depends, I've had 3 IUDs inserted, two hormonal and one copper, and I didn't really find the insertion more painful than period cramps.

Sure it was annoying, and there was a sensation of pain, but the level the pain was at for me wasn't enough to impede me from doing anything. After the insertion of the second one, I was back to work half an hour later, having scheduled the appointment on my lunch break.

Supposedly it's less painful if you've given birth, but I've never been pregnant, which was probably why it was so bad for me. I tried to work a couple hours after getting it, but I was pretty much useless that whole day because of the pain.

It was really painful for me as well. I nearly fainted. But totally worth it, IMO. No more periods, pretty much. Only light spotting at times. I've had mine 3 years with no complications so far. From my understanding generally the woman who have complications are ones who have it inserted too soon after giving birth when the uterus hasn't shrunk down to it's normal size yet.

I get no period no nothing. no spotting no cramps nothing. and, my periods were not even awful to begin with they were walks in the park but i love not having to think about it. depo stopped it the moment i got on my shots, with in a week no periods. and no spotting no nothing but, it's not a side affect every one gets even if you want to.

and of course, as you said you can't use depo. so. i am glad the IUD works out for you. every one should get a form theylike an works for them and doesn't hurt them in some way, as so many ppl can experience bad stuf an reject the forsm
