I am in my mid 40s. I think I was born the way I am. All my girlfriends have always taken the lead. I have always had these thoughts of being dominated. Heck, when I was 10 or 11 years old watching some bad B movie and some shipwrecked guys were tied to trees at the mercy of the Amazon tribe that captured them, I couldn't grasp why on earth they wanted to escape? As I got into my 20s, I hid my kinky side. I thought I was weird. Well maybe I am but there are lots of other weird people out there that I never knew about. I fought my kink for YEARS. The internet provides such ease to connect with other like minded people which has presented me with this question. I wonder now how different my life would be today if the internet was as developed in my youth as it is today? Thoughts?

For me it would not have changed anything. I have always been submissive to my partners whether they called it bdsm or not and I'm just fine with that and always have been. The internet for me has always just been another way to meet folks and have some fun wasting time.

I'm going to kind of reverse this question, since I'm 25, and wonder what my life would be like if I didn't have the internet. I may not ever have discovered BDSM, or it would have taken me much longer than it did to find it. I wouldn't be talking to people from the variety of places I've talked to people from (Florida, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, just to name a few). I wouldn't see all the cool ideas people have on Fetlife or Tumblr. I'm definitely glad the internet exists.

i understand what you mean... i know things would be different in my life if i had access to the net before i got married the first time.... shoot only the gov. had access to computers when i was young and that was a big room full of machines from what i remember... i guess i dated myself.. huh [X(]
