I have always thought I was 100% submissive but, lately I have had these feelings of wanting to be in control. In control of both male and female partners. Am I a switch? What does being a Switch mean? Am I crazy or just being wishy washy?[8|]

Hi there!

The term "switch" is kinda loose.

1. It means someone who either NEEDS or else IS WILLING to take either role in play - top or bottom.
2. It means someone who either NEEDS or else IS WILLING to take either role in relationships - Dom or sub.

Between this writing and your profile, it sounds like you NEED to be submissive to a man but are WILLING to Dom a man or woman.

I wouldn't call you a switch at this point. I'd say you are switch curious. Try it and see how it works.

You may desire to be a switch but, until your feelings of wanting to be in control turn into action and reality, I think you are still a switch in the making.

~FRing it~

Being a switch myself, I can honestly say you are neither crazy nor are you wishy washy. There are no rules that say you have to be one or the other. Give yourself time and you will figure out the best way to identify yourself. And that's really all that matters...how you see yourself.

Thank you everyone....this helps a lot....I have found I am ever evolving. And that is ALWAYS a good thing in my book.....I am very excited to keep learning and figure out which I am exactly.

Feelings of curiosity about something and doing the thing are entirely different. Being curious about a murder or feeling like you want to kill someone (I have had that feeling more than once) does not make you a murderer. So yes, I think you put it quite well, she is "switch curious".

Multifaceted, not wishy washy. For some people this is solely caused by meeting someone who elicits this feeling in you. For others, it's an internal need.

I am a switch...dominating in some aspects, submissive in others. I am not in a relationship right now so I am in a neutral status. I do submit to my daughter's father at times, dominate him at other times. My last relationship, I was a sub, doing what needed to be done without too much instruction from my Dom. I am also bipolar and the medicine I was taking stopped working on me and something happened that triggered a PTSD attack. I got myself into a hospital for treatment and we parted on friendly terms because I told him that I need to be closer to my family members who would make sure I would get treatment. That was over 4 years ago. I am on the right medicine, reside with my mother who is disabled as well (I finally got my SSI a few months after I got home). I still hear voices at times but I ignore them (unless its Mom in Walmart, trying to get my attention).

I wish I were a switch too... but in fact, I'm not even "in the making", I'm plain vanilla. Still plenty of time to come to the dark side, though [;)]

i wondered the same thing about myself many months back, actually. i wondered if i was a switch b/c i am so dominating in my business profession yet had such a yearning to have my submissive soul fulfilled and my need to please was literally causing an ache in my heart!...i had a nice guy who i chatted w/ for quite some time from DC who helped me thru my feelings/emotions/desires and it has come to be 100% correct what he and i discovered..i am 100% submissive, identify more really as a slave than a sub (in my definition of each) and play the dominant role in my business endeavors simply because i have to and need to do so to be successful.

good luck in your quest to find answers! :)

One of the most attractive qualities I find in a submissive is when she isn't everywhere else.

Jus sayin
