a stranger shared my bed
days months years passed
what was in his mind?
was there something more
something i did not see?
i will never know

we took a vow to love
created a bond for life
i gave him my youth
my dreams and hopes
yet who was he?
i still don't know

as time passed on
our life became one
we shared some laughs
and some tears along the way
but he's a stranger
i will never know

a life of desperation
is how i can explain
days months years passed
slowly drowning in my solitude
in the shadows of my stranger
i still don't know

one summer night
awakened by the small flicker
of a flame still burning within
i turned to him and saw
the stranger i had not seen
is this the man i loved?
i will never know

saying our good byes
we quickly parted ways
now, after all this time
days, months, years have passed
i am left to wonder
who was that stranger in my bed?
i still don't know
