I am not scared of HIV that much anymore; this does scare me.

Michael Douglas had stage 4 cancer of the tongue from oral sex and Farrah Fawcett had a type of anal cancer that killed her which was also caused by HPV.

I know there are people who are very leery of the HPV vaccines, but they do prevent most of the strains that cause these cancers.

a good reason for men to start getting vaccinated instead of just listening to the common consensus that "its a womens problem"

I'm a survivor of cervical/vaginal cancer as a result of DES. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diethylstilbestrol

While the cause of my cancer was not HPV, when asked by a mother if I thought the vaccine was a good choice, I stated that I absolutely thought it was.

Let's face it, a woman could remain a virgin until her marriage and still end up with HPV because she married a man that didn't know he had it. I wouldn't tell anyone that risking going through what I've been through was a valid choice because of some moral principle.

my mother was married at 16, she got hpv from her husband.... the same man that told her it was against gods will to get vaccinated. she got cervical and ovarian cancer(she also had skin cancer but unrelated)

Gardasil was not approved until 2006.

I have often spoken to women getting HPV by their men who have had no other sexual contact but their husband or ex.. Men do not have symptoms and sexual intercourse is not needed to pass this on to their partner. Women get HPV and end up with either genital warts or cancer. They tell the woman to wait it out to see if the body gets rid of it and in the mean time check-ups every 6 month. It is devastating for them and I have personally written to the CDC about how although the vaccine is wonderful they need more education on prevention for women and a test for MEN.
