ResidentSadist -> RE: -=Dog Salad=- (12/14/2013 2:35:22 AM)

I feel asleep watching a movie on the showtime cable channel. I just woke up to the Mork & Mindy show on THEHUB channel and the volume was blaring! . . . and who was at the end of the bed watching TV? The dog was there on my pillow and she had the remote! Now I am not saying the dog has learned how to use the remote. But dogs are tricky, who knows what she was up to?

Originally the dog wasn't even allowed in the bed at all (story here). But a few months ago I was very sick. I had the flu and the fever was making me shiver because I was so cold. The incredibly warm and empathetic dog offered her services and got in bed to cuddle with me and keep me warm. I was freezing and she was so warm and cuddly... it was a life saver. So nowadays, out of gratitude, she is allowed in the bed. Normally at the foot of the bed. However, on occasion, on a weekend when my slave works 40 hours of night shift in 3 days, I end up sleeping alone. I have woken up face to face cuddling with my arm over the dog. Just about when I get my eyes open to discover the dog, that is when she licks my face as if to say "gotcha'".

But now I find her on my pillow with the remote and she is watching a different channel than I originally had on? I think I am getting Dommed by the dog in my sleep. They have kid protection for your TV . . . do I need to get some doggy protection for the TV or what?

RS, welcome to that wonderful world of mysteries that seem to point to the dog doing something that one would think impossible without thumbs.

I have never fallen asleep with the tv on, music on the computer yes, not the tv, and I put the remote at the head of the bed in the window sill.

That being said, I have woke up to find my computer has been "restarted" and at the password login window.

Now, at this point the tv is off.

When I turn the tv on, knowing full and well that when I went to sleep I had it on either the h2, science or military channel, I have turned the tv on and found it tuned to a local channel, Animal Planet, food network, or strangely enough, HSN.

Even stranger is that the closed captioning which I turn off, has been turned on.

Nothing is moved from where I put it when I went to sleep, yet everything on the tv has changed.

Now there are two possibilities.

1) We are both paranoid and some unnamed individual is working on making us doubt our sanity. (alright, I know I am crazy, but I have no idea if you are)

Or

2) Our canine friends have more abilities than we are aware of and choose to use them when we are sleeping.

^ I do believe our canine friends have more abilities than we are aware of and choose to use them when we are sleeping and when you leave them in the car to go into the store. When I come back from the store, I find the dog sitting straight up in the driver's seat and sometimes with her paws on the wheel. She is looking straight forward like she is the driver. I would swear I can see her lips moving like she is making the motorboat sound imitating the car engine.

What is she doing in the driver's seat? She must be up to no good because when she spots me coming, she jumps out of the seat like she is guilty of something. Is she sitting there pretending to drive? Is it something more sinister and she practicing for the future when I am asleep and she will steal the car, driving off to some clandestine underground doggy meeting where they are plotting to take over the world?

There is something afoot I tell ya'!

My Millie, a dachshund, love to eat grapes. She practically begs for them, and raisins. She's not interested in people food otherwise.
