He could start by not eating the other kind of donuts.

I do like that reply, I literally loled, it's for me though. My tail bones bruised. N the Dr says2/4 weeks of a butt doughnut.

I'm not sure this is what you're looking for.. but it may do the trick. It has a weight capacity of 400 lbs and is around 50$. Good luck.

^^^That looks good, Bita and LGH.

The super, super cheap way to go is get a closed-cell foam gardener's kneeling pad with handle cut-out (that's where your tailbone will drop into) for a few bucks at any hardware store. This is what I use in my kayak. But...they're sized for relatively petite butts so try sitting on one before buying to make sure it will work for you.

Sort of but no. They're inflatable circles, looks like a doughnut, the shape:)

We also have a huge foam cushion we though we could make a vaguely doughnut shape. We"'ll check the hardware sections too for stuff that could be of use!

If you end up not being able to find or make an actual donut that has the required weight support, maybe check with your doctor to see if the cushion
or something like it would be a good alternative for you. The main thing is that the tailbone needs the hole so that when you sit it has room to drop down and take
pressure off of you. Same functionality as the donut.. just a different shape. Anyway.. hopefully you can find something that will work for you and feel better soon!

Chris, although this is not donut-shaped, I believe it serves the same purpose and will actually be more comfortable. Check with your doctor (and mention that you are having problems finding one for your weight.)

Thanks! Didn't even occurs to me to tell the Dr I don't know where to get in weight ranged I'd need.

You can also try a home medical supply store. Most of the inflatable rubber rings with 16" & 18" opening are rated between 200 & 250lb. The store will be able to tell you if there is something with a higher weight rating. If not then you might consider one of the foam ones. You can also look at the online medical supply stores.

Might this work? It's from a plus-sized living website but it doesn't say a weight range on it, or at least I couldn't find it.

Take a cheap option -

Find an old sofa that someone is chucking out and grab a couple of seat cushions.
Use a big serrated knife and cut two big holes in the middle of them.
Stack one on top of the other and sit with your tail bone in the hole.

Voila! Cheap ring cushion!
It doesn't have to look posh - throw them away when you're done with them.

Mom uses a small cushion pillow when she sits in the computer chair to boost her up some. I have been teasing her that she needs a doughnut.
