Dreamless -> RE: what really not a typical interest of yours do you have that others would say wtf? (12/7/2013 4:44:00 PM)

Translation: She loves littles. There used to be an active "littles group" around here, and she tried to join in but no one was sincere about wanting to be friends. She liked actual kids; she feels like she's very good at connecting with them. She'd like to be able to a shapeshifter so she could be 10 years old so she could go to age-restricted events, like say, summer camp where you only get to go as staff if you're an adult, and you don't get to do all the fun things.

LGH.

I want to introduce you to something I think you'll love.

Sweet Lolita. Google it. Another keyword is EGL, elegant gothic lolita.

It's an alt fashion style that's all about the cute little girl fashion... in adult sizes. It stems from Japan so the 'brand' lolita is often too small for us big girls, but there are people on Etsy who make custom stuff... and there's a great site called Fan + Friend that does custom sized options. Since I'm not small myself, I have bought some skirts from them--I'm a steampunk but a lot of classic lolita can easily be adapted to my alt fashion preferences--and they did fit all right. Seriously, you need to check this out. We're talking cupcake skirts with ruffles and lace and satin, and cute accessories and all the classic little girl things you're craving to wear, except sized up for you.

Lots of cities have local lolita groups that do things like tea parties. It's less about the little aspect, and more about the classic dainty femininity for most lolitas, but you might enjoy the community, and find them welcoming of your love of little things. But, most importantly, it gives you a way to get the clothing you want to wear, now you know what to look for. Plus, if you're crafty, you'll find lots of tutorials for how to make accessories and stuff! For example, if you can sew a bit, here's a tutorial for how to make a lacy bib to add to an existing teeshirt or sweater to doll it up. http://kalashnik-v.livejournal.com/1108.html Here's a really simple idea for how you can modify a simple teeshirt to make it more girly. http://t-shirt-surgery.livejournal.com/4066549.html#

As for wanting to do kid things, get over the fact that some events are age restricted and look for things that aren't. You could totally go glow bowling, or play laser tag with other littles if you make a connection with a local littles community. :) Maybe you could volunteer at a summer camp, for example if you got a lifeguarding certificate, if you'd really prefer to be around real kids. That's just one idea.

Anyway, there's tons of adults who like to wear lacy girly little clothes, you just have to know what to look for. Have fun.

Am I the inly one too exhausted after reading to even formulate a decent reply?

When I was in NOLA, I had one guy who wanted me to dress in typical Catholic schoolgirl uniform. Damn thing was too tight on me and he tried to get me stoned on poppers. I managed to get out of there when he fell asleep.

Did you take the uniform with you and . . . . um . . . er . . . do you still have it?
Just sayin'

I can't really think of anything that others think is strange. I'm pretty normal I think. I don't really have any weird or far out interests. Even my bdsm interests aren't out there. I'm not a masochist. I just like a dominant personality man. Lots of women do though, bdsm or nor.

Google " adult little clothing " and you'll get a bunch of websites that cater to that market. Everything from pre-made to custom made.

It isn't kid type clothing I'd like to have. Just the little elastic pull on sneakers that light up when you walk.

Well...I do...

I still love love love reading Donald Duck books....my partner was surprised that I am not hiding that fact in my age, but I am happy with that quirk [:D]

Over here adults who still like those stories are called Donaldisten....it just helps me at times to unwind as an easy read (compared to other books where you need to concentrate more to follow it) and can also be used whilst sitting in a bath tub, with not being in fear about making it wet....as it would not be an issue with one of those, compared to a real book...

But thats my only quirk in that direction [:)]

Nah but I plan to get a sewing machine and make one...but it will make Mom curious...
