leaves falling from the trees
a little girl dancing on the side walk
sun shining brightly in the blue sky
pillows of white clouds floating
as i sit on the steps of this old house
time has passed me by
much has happened through the years
i stay and ponder for a while
dreams i had have come and gone
life itself has moved on
as i sit on the steps of this old house
many memories come to mind
i think of times i laughed and cried
the winter nights i wept alone
days that passed me by
wondering what could of been
as i sit on the steps of this old house
once i thought the world was mine
the future was so distant
i knew for greatness i was destined
life for me would turn around
i feel the breeze run through my hair
as i sit on the steps of this old house
then i see my boy, my angel
in his eyes there is much wonder
a joy for life he carries within
i realize these years have not been wasted
he hugs me tightly i feel complete
as i sit on the steps of this old house
