ROPENHIGHHEELS -> Website problems with the photo buttons (12/12/2013 1:50:52 AM)

Anyone else here having problems seeing a member's next picture on their profile when you click the buttons under their picture marked "<<Photo" and "Photo>>"? When I click on "view all photos" I can then see all the pics that member has but I can't see them when using the other buttons I described earlier in this post. I first had this problem this past Sunday. I wasn't here the last 3 days and when I came here today the same problem is still there. Anyone else having this problem too?

What browser are you using?

I've experienced the same problem.
I am using explorer and have tried erasing cookies. Still does not work

I'm also using IE (v8) and I've also used FF v25 and not seen this problem here with the buttons.
I just checked it on both and both are working fine.

But I do often see where the boxes of text still have the formatting commands instead of actually rendering the text properly - on both browsers.

My bets is you were caught in the middle of a fix.

Clear your cache and cookies, restart your computer and give it a whirl.

In my case, it lasts for days, sometimes weeks, and on both browsers (and they have different caches).
I clear them both out and defrag every day. So it can't be that.

yeah, I think the formatting commands are when this place is really slow (which is very often) and a few bits get dropped.

If that were the case, then a refresh should re-load the page and cure that, don'tcha think?
It would for most websites.
Refresh and even a re-boot and re-login doesn't seem to work either on CM.

You're caching old pages....I dont know. I am sure that in the fixing of things some things get unfixed.

Can't be old pages if they are cleared from your 'puter - they'd have to be re-sent from the site.
And I think you're right - some things get UNfixed when the techs are tinkering with it.

but we all should be seeing it, if that is the problem, it dont work one way for you and one way for me.

and I havent had the issue for a long long long time.

I don't get it all the time.
But one thing is fer sure, when it happens, it happens on both browsers.
If I go to a different PC here, it's still the same even if a profile had previously loaded correctly.

When it does happen, it's a rock-solid problem until it goes away.
That said, I've never ever had buttons not working, anywhere. Strange, huh?

ETA: also, I've never had the text formatting problem anywhere else either.
I use about 4 different site forums and only ever seen it on CM.
That pretty much tells me it's something local to CM and not my end.
