That option is already available. In the Edit profile (or Create Profile) tab is the following section:

You are ACTIVELY seeking

In the search box on the home page:

They are Seeking

Seems pretty simple to me [:D]

If people keep their profiles updated, the process is so much easier.

Why not have an "owned" button for slaves, subs and or switches? It seems that about 25-30% of slaves/subs are "already collared and owned", i understand they want to have community on here, but i think it would save the population of CM quite a bit of wasted time, in looking over countless "owned" sub/slaves, whom most of us who are looking don't desire to show up in our search results.

Thoughts?

I admit I didn't read the whole thread, but why not a "taken" button? After all, both of you are "taken." I'm sure the d-type wouldn't like the term "owned" even though you kind of are.

Realistically though, if you are too lazy to really search, and feel you are wasting your time, you aren't going to find what you are looking for. After all, potential subs are known to look at forum posts, and this post certainly doesn't make you look good.

Lol, obviously you don't know what the hell you are talking about. Look at most "slaves" profiles, and you will see they do not post on the forums very often, i estimate out of the 100 slave profiles i have looked at in the past 7 days, only 5 have active posts in the forums.
Get your head out of your ass before you sling mud.
Seriously.

And my current sub is From CM, i have met face to face about 8 people so far in 2 years. I know what i'm doing. Believe me.

The nature of the post was geared around efficiency of search for everyone, not just myself.

A "taken" button would suffice as well to respond to poster above. Really anything to streamline the searching process for all.

LL didn't say they POSTED, only that they looked at forum posts, so perhaps it is you that needs to "get your head out of your ass". I see reading comprehension is not your forte. You might want to work on that, cupcake.

DsCouple23 - the following should exclude owned profiles:

Thanks tazzy; I was just going to post this.

umm... the definition of slave is "a person who is a chattel of another" if you are searching for slaves you are only searching for those who are owned.... and those who cant bother to use a dictionary. actually a reasonably easy way to find gullible people, but i digress... it is the owned button. there is no such thing as an unowned slave, no matter how much people want to butcher language to try to make their fetish sound more inclusive of them. just like there is no willing rape... its just rough sex. there are no unowned slaves.... they are free individuals that arent much fond of being free. it's like saying "i wish i could never sleep" so you go around calling yourself an insomniac while getting your 8 hours in every night. wish in one ear spit in another, see which one gets full faster.

I understand, but these slaves don't have a current owner. So what would you call that? A free slave?

No.

One definition:

A man or woman who knows their own worth and potential.

Another:

A submissive who knows the depths of their service to the right person.

Why? Two reasons.

1. I don't care.
2. You would know if you read the forums to know I'm owned. If you don't then that's your problem.

They can just as easily just ask me or just send me a decent, normal, human email and I can respond to them in kind. Who knows. You just may end up having a great conversation with someone if nothing else.

I'm going to be a small voice of dissent here.

In my profile I've clicked the 'friends only' button. That's what I'm looking for. Within my profile I've made it clear EXACTLY what kind of friends I'm looking for.

Why should I have to click yet another button to say I'm not seeking a partner or relationship of any other kind? I've already told you that using the 'friends only' button!

Of course that doesn't stop the terminally dim-witted from messaging me on the off-chance I might be free for a bunk-up, but quite frankly those people deserve what they get [:'(]

This too. Mine is set to "friends only". If you still email me with wanting more than that, then again, that's your problem, not mine.

Besides, how many do you think actually READ anything on the other side? They look at the pics and just send an email or just send an email to every single female. Having another button won't change a single thing.

I just don't see what a "collared and owned" button would really do. I was in a relationship for a year before I was collared. I'm sure there are others in similar relationships. These people would continue to appear on your search list.

People look for ways to make their search easier. In the past there has been a suggestion to have a box for findommes so they wouldn't show up in a search. Others want the search criteria to include a way to more easily find kinksters who live near them, especially in the UK and Canada.

There is just no way to please everyone and make everyone happy. Everyone has their own personal agenda and wants their own search to be as precise and easy as possible. Sadly, it can't be done for everyone. This leaves the old fashioned way of looking at each profile to see if it might be a match for you. I do understand that this takes time. When you find that very special person to add to your lives the search will seem well worthwhile.

Yes good point's, i'm going to have to get creative in finding this slave, i'm an extremely picky guy... this will take at least a year, most likely, i can feel it. CM wont be the only place we will be searching.

Really??? A year??? You DO realize most couples search for YEARS, right????? Seriously? A year. LOL

Oh yes to this! How many times have you received a message that said 'what are you looking for?'.

I normally say 'have you read my profile', and that's usually when they go and read it...then find my rather pointed little comment about people who don't read profiles and disappear in a 'poof!' of indignation [:D]
