There's a difference between words and actions sometimes. That is true, we want that whole list, which is not realistic, so you need to prioritize what you need vs. what you want. Whenever I found someone I wanted, they were not what I needed, except in two cases where one died and one wouldn't have worked long term because I was in love with someone else, who was bad for me. So I believe that list is a good one and you hope to go for qualities. One problem may be that the traits of faithfulness, reliability, being a good father, etc. are not traits you see right away. It is the more visible traits like looks, sexual prowess, humor that you see first and a lot of men who have those charming qualities may not possess the deeper ones.

You wouldn't believe how difficult a conversation that is to have BEFORE you get them into bed. So a lot of the time, you get them into bed and then you have that 'oh' moment of disappointment.

I have a list of about 30 things I want in a man. They are just things that make sense to me... they represent something (I don't REALLY care if he's bilingual, but I DO care whether he has a world view versus a narrow view.) Making the list helped me figure out what a MAN is to me... because that's what I want - a MAN. What all those things on my list boil down to is this: He is a man who knows himself well.
