zumala -> Asking for Prayer (7/4/2006 3:26:36 PM)

I suppose this may be a strange place to put a prayer request (since I know a lot of you aren't Christian and/or don't believe in God), but since this is the online community I spend most of my time around, I'm going to do it anyway.

It's July 4th.  People should be with their families having fun today.  My father-in-law and his family should be out camping and having a cookout... but he's in the hospital.  He went in a few days ago and today got moved to a larger city to have fluid removed from around his heart.  He had stints put in last month.  He's 71 years old and pup loves him dearly.  So do I.  I'd be more upset about losing him than I would my own grandfather (this is pup's father, remember).

Please pray for his recovery.  He means a lot to pup, and in the 4 years that pup and I have been married, his dad really HAS become a second father to me.  I love him too.

Thanks.

zuma

Hi Zumala,
I dont think this is such a strange place to ask for prayers. I think that a good lot of us believe in God and speaking as one who does, I will add you to my prayer list. Wishing you and your family peace at this time.

zumala,
There are more Christians here than you might suppose, and it never is inapproprriate to ask for prayer.
                 I wish you well,

Zuma,

I echo MoG and Shreve, there are many who believe out here, and I am always pleasantly surprised to hear it.  I will be praying for pup's father as I know how important prayer can be in a person's recovery.  Remember that we have an awesome God and He hears even the faintest of whispers from our lips.  Feel His loving arms around you and your family.

Please let us know how pup's father is doing when you are able.

Love and prayers,
Daddysredhead

I appreciate the prayers, everyone.  Report is that he's feeling better after they drained off 900 ml of fluid from around his heart.  It's no wonder he didn't feel well and could barely breathe.  That's a considerable amount of pressure.
