I was owned by a woman at the time who was very feminine and desired her slave to be very masculine, yet submissive towards her.

That's my kind of sub. (Btw, don't believe in slavery, even when consensual.)

... why is Goddess any more ridiculous than Master/Mistress?

Out of curiosity, how do you (and/or any other Domme reading this) prefer to be addressed, if you don't mind my asking? In general, and in private.
When my sub or sub-under-consideration calls me Mistress, it gets me hot. No one else has that privilege.

Rawni -> RE: Question: Do you need a Master or a Goddess Mistress ? (1/2/2014 1:10:14 PM)

I believe that someone can be a mistress or master. I don't believe anyone can be a goddess. Let me see that lightning... Just as I don't believe anyone can be a god. I guess it depends on how you look at things.

Now... say mr godlike shows up and says... my name will be master god or sirmastergoddom... we would laugh him out on his pompous ass. Does that make us bad or evaluating what we are seeing? Are we bashing a kink? Think of how these words are used and the people that use them. That is where the laughter comes in. It isn't a kink that most are laughing at. We are laughing because some people need to put on airs and if you look at how they conduct themselves... and who responds to them... well, just look at your email and you may understand.

You can call me goddess when I am goddess worthy and actually can perform as a goddess. You can call me mistress when I am your mistress. You can call me ma'am just about any ol time. The best thing to call me, if I have a choice, is Rawni or Lockit. If I don't have a choice, I may block, laugh or do various things, but I rarely answer in the way the person might like when they assume we are all alike and need that ego boost of being goddess like. Don't force your kink on me.

Shit... I am just the barefoot, foul mouthed domina and would rather be called that, than some things these self positioning submissives and goddesses expect to promote. [:'(]

As the token leather chick on the board, I go pretty much by leather protocols. That says that nobody should be calling Me "Mistress" without a qualifying name unless they actually belong to Me or have a dynamic with Me in some way. On very rare occasions, I might be cool with it in top/bottom situations, depending on various circumstances. (Ex: I used to play with a gal who was owned by a man who identified as a Gorean, so when we played, I was fine with her calling Me Mistress.)

To everybody else, I'm either Lady Pact, LP, or Pact. That goes for groups, munches, community play spaces, and pretty much kinky people in general.

If it's a high protocol thing where people are being introduced according to earned leather, it can be either Master Pact or Master Lady Pact. We don't have much of that up here, so that doesn't happen often these days.

As far as the gender identity of Master - In plain English, in regards to a "house" only men are Masters. For example, "young Master William" and his father the "Master of Williams house".

In the world of leather, nowadays, gender has become a moot point. Sorta' like asking if a biological male, that that identifies as a woman, but is a butch lesbian woman at heart, and has a biological female girlfriend . . . can she be his "boi" even though it is a biological male/female relationship? I am pretty sure the answer is yes.
