We met for coffee, it was very nice! I'm very young and new to this thing so I was very nervous which he could tell. He held the door open for me and never broke eye contact.... Very attractive. Also I knew sort of what he looked like but oh my god he was 20 times more sexier in person. We kept the conversation pretty light but then again got deep at times. I think I may have lucked out on this one. I haven't been in this kind of relationship before and he seems like the perfect person to start out with. I'm really hoping things work out! He does take long times to reply to my texts but he says he's trying to teach me patience. Lol. I think I might be getting too attached to soon but he was literately almost too good to be true. Hoping for a second date soon :)

If you think you are getting attached too soon, you probably are.

Don't get sub frenzy, treat this like getting to know anyone.

There is no rush, really.

Slow down, let him pursue you.

Have fun and be safe.

I'm with sexy red...Remember, honey... it's just dating. Don't drop your personal standards and such just because he calls himself a Dom. Who is he to teach you patience after having a simple cup of coffee? It's great you enjoyed his company, but take a step back and ask yourself, "would I tolerate / enjoy / accept this behavior from a vanilla guy I had one date with?" Let that answer guide you, whatever it is.

And remember to have fun!

I hope that you tread lightly into any new friendship/relationship. Just because this is a different type of relationship doesn't mean it isn't a relationship first.

Wishing you well.

Allie

So happy you had a good first date. I've been in your shoes. I'm not too much older than you and I have been on several dates from this site over the past almost four years. Even still, EVERY single time I have a new first date I have to tell myself to take a step back and keep my eyes open on the bigger picture. I see the best in people, always. Even if there is a shit ton of bad, I will still find (and focus) on the good. That can be a horrible thing when dating.

Just remember you have to protect yourself (emotionally as well as physically) until you really know these people. I hope you have a great second date!

Agree totally with sunshine. Usually a "I'm trying to teach you patience" referring to a lack of interaction is another way of saying I'm too busy to get back to you.
It seems an excuse. It may be that he really is busy but, he should be honest and say that. It's not training.

I had a so called Dom toying with my previous sub and it was the same deal. When he failed to contact her after a session he pawned it off as part of her training.

BS!! Post session interaction is highly important and it left her feeling completely empty due to his lack of attention.

She came back and asked Me about it and it was obvious he didn't want to admit to his own faults.

The poster only posted one post ever and has not been back since......so I doubt she heard or took anyone's advice here. Plus her profile no longer can be found.
