Does anyone else misread the title here as:

Titties ahoy?

Yup.
Every. single. time.

You assume that wasn't deliberate? [;)]

I was browsing,saw this...

What a bait and switch! I came for the titties, and all I got was semantics.

To respond to your original topic. I hate defining my sexuality by neat little check boxes. Truth be told I'm all over the place and pretty flexible. I'm a bit bisexual, but def more straight leaning. Male submission turns me off, but occasionally I'm into it and with women I'm into either side of the kneel . While I prefer to bottom, I can service top and occasionally let my sadist side come out to play. I guess I just don't care and go with what feels right at the time. Titles be damned.

A friend of mine described themselves as a "Martyr" when referring to themselves in a conversation as a Dominant Masochist. I'm pretty new to all this stuff still, and are there titles like this I didn't know about, or is she making them up?

And on a side note, can you even be a Dominant Masochist or a Submissive Sadist?

The thing about BDSM titles is there is relatively little agreement about what even the simple ones mean. For the type of titles you're talking about, heck you can call yourself anything you want -- but you'll have to tell people what you mean because no one will understand. So the titles don't really do much, except if you are looking for attention.

Chortles

Of course all Twue Dominants are Dominant maso's
I mean hey:
1-We deal with wimmins all the dang time. You ever try and deal with those creatures? They're contrary, emotional, prone to episodic (As in 1 out of four weeks) fits of insanity, during which they bleed like stuck pigs, babble erratically and in general, behave like escapees from Strawberry Fields .
2-Like the world ain't weight enough for one person, we carry the weight of two...because domming is a tremendous responsibility. Ooooh, it's a self inflicted cross we carry, yet quite the burden it is.
3-Worst of all, we also have to do all the thinking for two as well. This is because it's a well known fact all S types are devoid of brains or intellect of any way shape or kind.
This is easily proven by asking what you're s/s is thinking at any given time. 100% of the time their response will be, "Nothing."
Voila.Leaving the dom to think for the pair...cuz someone has to

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
I tell ya, domming ain't for sissies (hehehehehe). Takes a manly maso man to be such a beast.

Walks away muttering the 2.5 men theme song under his breath

ResidentSadist -> RE: Titles Ahoy (2/1/2014 7:44:05 AM)

Sadist and masochist are not titles. It is not a rank you earn. It is just a descriptive noun.
Master or slave in BDSM usage is an honorific . . . only the Master's cap or leathers are earned like rank and title.

So sexual preferences and honorific describing relationship roles can freely overlap in any combination without clash. You can have a sadomasochistic switch that enjoys sadism, masochism, being dominant and submissive.
