NuevaVida -> A new life, indeed (1/30/2014 7:53:03 AM)

Some of you know me here from long ago – my previous screen name, my previous relationship – and know a bit of my history, my drama, my self discoveries, etc…
So you might know that almost 5 years ago I was hanging out, enjoying life as a single woman, not at all interested in a relationship. I pretty much ignored all Cmail from guys on the other side. And I almost ignored one in particular, but it was so politely written it warranted a reply. So I replied.
What started as an occasional Cmail turned into regular personal emails which turned into nightly phone calls which turned into an amazing first date. I swear to God the first time I saw him my knees went weak, and the first time he kissed me my eyes welled up. I felt like every path in life I had taken had led me straight to him. Cheesy, but hey.
We spent the next nearly 5 years driving up and down the freeway every weekend and a few weeknights in between, juggling his two jobs, his daughter, my job, my aging mother, deaths in the family, health issues, and anything else that came at us. Together we found joy in our shared love of music, food, wine, art & wine festivals, movies, etc.
I spent the first year or so convinced I could take it or leave it, and that I’d only stick around as long as we were happy. We actually did have a short break a couple of winters ago (in my mind we split up, in his mind I was still his…to which I laugh and say, Ross Gellar style, “We were on a break!!”)
In time it was pretty clear to me I was (am) in this for the long haul…and I let my guard down, and I trusted, and I came to love fully, and to stop being so self protective with him.
Two weeks ago we left our separate homes and merged into our new home. The move was chaotic, and it’s all a little surreal, but here we are now, together finally.
He is a good man. He loves me. He’s got my back. And I am totally and crazily in love with him.
He’s not a message board kind of guy so you won’t see him posting here, but MasterOfHouse is the love of my life, and we found each other on CollarMe. [:)]
