Ok... I did some more reading about it.

From what I read, the only thing you can really do to alleviate any of the symptoms is pain relief.
Other than that, it looks like surgery is the only option.

So your topic heading is very misleading.
It's not migraines, it's another quite different thing.
And I'm willing to bet that most specific migraine meds or migraine 'cures' won't do anything for the pain.

I would see your GP/PCP and see what they suggest for the very specific pain relief youmay  need with this condition as I'm guessing that most 'normal' pain meds aren't going to work.

I have a low to mid level headache from this condition every day all day, but sometimes all the stress from that pain and other pains I get from it trigger an actual Migraine that Migraine meds do work on and it is those headaches I am looking for help with. I have accepted that I am always going to be in some amount of pain and do not want to be drugged up on pain meds all the time. It is just when things start to ramp up and get really bad that I needed ideas for... I am sorry if you feel that I was being misleading and that I didn't explain in more detail what I was asking for and why.

If stress is your main trigger, then the visualization is probably going to be your best route.

I may be wrong, but I think things like yoga can help there as well. Kalikshama would be way more knowlegeable on that than me. Hopefully, she will pop in and comment.

I do know the trick is attacking it early, but if you have some kind of headache all day every day, I'm not sure how you could. If you can feel when your "normal" headache is trying to escalate into a migraine, don't ignore it and hope it will stop on its own. Tried that and it never seems to work. All that happens is that you end up waiting until its severe and harder to deal with.

When I am transitioning from just my normal headache to a Migraine I go temporarily blind in my left eye... Well not blind exactly but it goes all hazy and I get little floaters in my vision in both eyes. I also get a lot more sensitive to light and sound then I am already from the other headaches.

I am going to try the visualization the next time I feel it shifting into a migraine and I am hoping it really helps. Thank you for telling me about it. I really was wanting things like this to help because I hate to take meds unless I don't have any other choice, even when I can afford them.

I hate the way I feel when I am on medicine. I don't like being all foggy and out of it which is how I react to most pain meds and migraine meds as well...

I have had migraines for many years.  If I eat too much of certain foods, I can pretty much clock one in.  My triggers are hard cheese and caffeine. I don't drink, so I don't know if red wine is a trigger for me as well.

Stress is a trigger as well.  I was told years ago by my doctor, that there are several types of migraines.  The classic migraine if you will is genetic.  It is the same gene as epilepsy.  If you check your family history, you are likely to see a few relatives with epilepsy.

Fortunately I get a warning.  My vision goes kafluky.  Yes that's legitamite medical term.  Anyway, as soon as I get my warning, I take 2 sinus headache pills.  They have pain relief as well as something for sinuses.  I also get a regular cherry coke.  90% of the time that works.

400 mg of Riboflavin can prevent headaches.
So can taking Q-10 (but I am not sure how much).

My MD gives me Fioricet.
It works well most of the time.

Topomax worked really really well at preventing them, but I developed Tinnitus.
