Read the link again... More than one E. St Louis official was convicted of voter fraud. Now I ask you of those 5,200 who were on the books as  falsely registered voters how many do you think voted in previous years? Who the hell would know when they left the area? That is the problem with the existing set up... know one the hell knows how much fraud because there is no way to track it.

It would be hard for a dead person to show up with a photo ID...and the process to obtain ids would also lessen the fraudulent registrations on the books that could be abused.

In St Louis proper there have been more than one conviction of voter fraud... In Kansas City an election was nullified because of voter fraud... Don't you think it odd that if fraud is SOOOOO rare this election was decided by ONE vote fraudulently.... and it be the only one? Yea right.

I am usually against the nonsense the Missouri legislature comes up with but they have just passed legislation that will put photo IDs up for a vote I believe in April. The people will decide not Republicans in our state so we shall see.

There have also been complaints of voter fraud by Democrats and I agree with them... There were MANY republican governed counties in Missouri that had more registered voters than there was population of voter age.

Like I said before there is a real problem in MY state... perhaps your state does not have a problem. The voters, Republican...Democrat...and others will decide in Missouri... The rest of you can keep your heads in the sand if you choose.

No, they weren't falsely registered, they died or moved away, and even the most cunning of the Grover Nordquist imbecilia, nor the best of the best of the Armey Alinskyists, are on any given warm, laconic july evening as likely as they are to barbeque, going to canvas and update those rolls, its only gonna happen at crunch time.  So, given that 5200 (who didnt vote and are not in question) are mostly likely to not vote, if they are dead, or go to their current precinct and put up with the fuckin hassle of voting there, would have all voted for democrats, who wouldnt have won, say if captain magic underpants had gotten 5200 more votes?

kdsub -> RE: NAACP protesting voter ID requires picture ID (2/13/2014 11:24:42 AM)

Ron check out a search on Acorn when it comes to registration... You can't remove registration from voter fraud. Even if photo ID's only bring the registration roles up to date from a given date forward it will help... Why are you and others so afraid of letting the people speak with their votes on this issue? But I must admit I do worry about fraud...lol

I could see where there would be objections if IDs were legislated without a vote...after all the Missouri legislature is controlled by Republicans. But a vote is different... remember with a state wide vote, as opposed to a by county vote, the Democratic population of the large cities will balance outstate Republicans. This is reflected in the fact that we have a Democratic governor and a State Senator.

If with this type of election the photo ID requirement is passed that will mean many Democrats had to vote for it.

How many people in your state have been caught trying to vote under a false identity? Just provide the number and a link. That might help sort this out.

Please no more references to voter rolls, who is upset about fraud, or thinks there is fraud.

Just post the number.

You do realize that the primary way to catch frauds would be IDs and that by not having it the number of people caught would be only a small
fraction of those committing fraud don't you?

You ran the search... anyone else can... I gave one example there were others like THIS one. But you seem to don't understand that with false registrations both Democratic and Republican abuse cannot even be tracked... Why are you so against closing the obvious holes? On second thought I don't care  what your motivation is.

We are going back and forth with this silly argument... The people of Missouri have requested reform through their legislatures and they will have a vote on it. Unless you are against majority rule on legal legislation in a democracy why don't you start a campaign to influence the vote with your view point?

Why are you afraid that its pure bullshit?  We can outlaw guns, we can poll tax and we can get rid of the electoral college.

However, being at heart a rather traditional guy, I will require a constitutional amendment ratified before these things take place.

How do voter ids bring registration rolls up to date for more than never?

Like a phone book.  Day it is published it is 15% out of round at least.  5200 in St. Louis?  is that 15%?

Fuck searching on Acorn and registration, fuck voter id, fuck all that shit.

With this massive voter fraud (all of it unproven) and massive perversion of the will of the people by not having ids (first of all butch, lolololofuckingl), and people like W getting elected president, other than that, what fraud has been perpetrated that voter id would solve?

Yanno, any fuckin dildo can get a picture id that says anything for fucks sake.

Well, the only way that works is everyone give out their social security number in the clear to many sundry and various parties, and check against social security numbers.  So I have some fuckin imbecile who loves the shit outta bachmann lets say rummaging thru my stuff so I can vote?  No.

See post #136.

Since gun owners already undergo a background check your feeble attempt at humor feel flat.
And since gun owners do have a background check that should remove your objections to ID.
After all there are background checks for a right which "shall not be infringed" .
IDs fall well into the states being able to set qualifications for voters.

Voter laws are left to the states in the Constitution... and that is what will decide the ID requirement...within the Constitution...and the will of the people of Missouri ...aint democracy a bitch

backround checks are not as invasive as IDs, and we have established that your credentials vis a vis the 2nd amendment accoutrements are non-extant.

kdsub -> RE: NAACP protesting voter ID requires picture ID (2/13/2014 11:56:06 AM)

It is already decided law...if you disagree take to the courts... if they will hear it.

Normally butch, you dont say stupid shit, but I will repeat as I have ad nauseam, that there is a constitutional amendment that DISALLOWS poll taxes, etc..(they used to be allowed) and the Supreme court in Bush v Gore 2000 says that any federal election law trumps state elections.

And in every case where there has been no escape clause from voter ids the SCOTUS has ruled it unconstitutional.

Aint that a fuckin bitch.

kdsub -> RE: NAACP protesting voter ID requires picture ID (2/13/2014 12:08:06 PM)

Ron

The  Supreme Court as already ruled that photo IDSs are constitutional... some states already have a requirement... am I missing something?

Yup, you missed it, in the cases where they have said it is ok, there is an escape clause in those laws which allows you to vote without id.

kdsub -> RE: NAACP protesting voter ID requires picture ID (2/13/2014 12:23:08 PM)

Ron as far as I can tell the exceptions are provisional ballots where the voter may vote without a photo ID... BUT... must eventually show a photo ID for his ballot to count.

Butch

mnottertail -> RE: NAACP protesting voter ID requires picture ID (2/13/2014 12:25:48 PM)

Nope, there are alternative proofs.  You got actual helds on that from SCOTUS cases?
