I have been positive for 4 years now. Even in 2014 i see social and personal stigma at large when it comes HIV/AIDS in communities around the world. Its not your fault if your misinformed, however its your fault as a social bigot with how you use the information once you been informed. Regan years did a number on stigma when he refused to be silent on the Crisis. This disease is non discriminatory. Regardless of gender identity, sexual identity, schooling, job, religion, nationality it affects and effects all people. I have my PhD, my background is in socialwork, very religious, come from a military family, and one time i decided to have sex after being celibate for a year i became positive. I found out Feb 21, 2010 one month later after the time I sero converted on Jan 13, 2010. This was a time before i became the kinkster i am. however two thoughts went through my head kill myself or put a face on it, i chose to put a face on it. I was a testing counselor in Utah before i seroconverted. after I seroconverted and found myself in San Francisco I dived into HIV services. in last 4 years I have sat on the HPPC (HIV Prevention Planning Council) The Mental Health Advisory Committee, I have taught HIV 101 at Berekley High, Prevention and Outreach specialist, I have been part of many protests against the defunding of ADAP and the prices of meds. I am a HIV public liaison and Educator, and peer mentor. HIV Counselor and testing Counselor, Public Speaker, Benefit Counselor and Navigator. I trained, rode and completed the AIDS Lifecycle in 2013 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles in 7 days. I have worked with Healing Waters. I am a LGBT Safe zone trainer and HIV/AIDS sensitivity trainer. I have spoke on the news for the new FC2. And I am great at making condom distributation fun, get guys and girls to take condoms even when they might feel embarassed. My record in 24 hour period handing out 8000 condoms 2 per person by going to bars clubs and having conversation about condoms. i am open about my status that way i can put a face on it.
So feel free to ask questions, i will reply to responses post blogs and information. And help you get rid of misguided information. nNot saying you have to play with those positive, just know there are safe ways to while being human in your interactions
