How does anyone lose 155 lbs in any length of time without having loose hanging skin? Shouldn't her loose skin be even worse than average since she lost the weight so fast? Yet there is no loose skin at all. No big upper arms, no turkey neck, nothing.

It would work if the weight gain were a recent thing.. like to get on a show.
I wonder what pictures over time would look like.

She's only 24 and a former athlete.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/biggest-loser-winner-rachel-frederickson-reacts-to-weight-loss-backlash/

...The 24-year-old shed 155 pounds, going from a starting weight of 260 pounds down to 105 pounds to the season-15 title. Her big reveal on the show’s finale prompted concern from viewers who thought her dramatic weight-loss was unhealthy.

"I'm extremely proud of the way I lost the weight," she told Us magazine, adding, "I did everything so naturally, and the athlete in me really came back."

But, she admitted in a separate interview with People magazine, "Maybe I was a little too enthusiastic in my training to get to the finale."

Frederickson said she maintained a 1,600-calorie daily diet and worked out six hours a day in the three months leading up to the finale. Producers also said she was carefully monitored throughout her seven-and-a-half months on the show, including in the days leading up to the final episode.

"Rachel passed all the required medical tests ensuring she was healthy," the show's executive producer, Dave Broome, told People.

The weight loss seems extremely unhealthy. Six hours a DAY? wth, I work out ONE hour a day for my physique with two days off. How is she not in a wheelchair? LOL...just saying, scary :-/

She is young and athletic. That's how she was able to not have saggy skin.

I knew an athletic woman who would work out two hours before work by waking up at 4am to run and then work out at the gym after work for about another 2 hours. That's 4 hours right there. I can see if someone is very regulated with their time, they could do it.

Some people get very lucky with that, especially if they're young. And working out does help... especially if you do it THAT MUCH. Whoa. I only have a tiny bit of loose skin and I lost about 75 pounds without even exercising much. Once I started working out (roughly an hour a day 5-6 days a week, at 33) most of what I had, which wasn't too much, went away, and now there's nothing but a little bit on my inner thigh that most likely nobody notices but me.

So she does seem to be a lot tighter-bodied than one would expect, but it's not impossible. She could be an outlier, with youth and good genes and an intense workout program all on her side.

I wish I had the freaking time to do 6 hours a day, but I'm too busy working 12 of them most days.

I think she looked great and is getting a lot of shit for being "too skinny" needlessly.

I assume she didn't work. If I was up to being a contender for $250k, I probably wouldn't work either. I'd be doing what it would take to take home the gold.

Yeah, when I saw her I thought she looked wonderful! I was the same weight as her when I first met Master and no one thought I was too skinny except one of my sisters. But everyone else thought I looked great. I say good for her! I hope to be at what she is someday again.

Biggest Loser contestants, for starters.

In the summer, my mother, who is retired, often puts in a 10 hour day of gardening, walking, swimming, and painting (scraping/sanding) the house.

A few years ago, when she was training for a trip to the Grand Canyon, every few days she'd do three hour hikes followed by a swim.

http://theashleysrealityroundup.com/2011/05/29/your-biggest-loser-questions-answered/

...Q: How are the contestants able to work out so much without getting hurt?

A: Well, they don’t. A lot of the contestants actually have a lot of injuries that aren’t addressed on camera. Some contestants have broken toes, torn ligaments, etc. but we never see it. There’s actually a ton of medics there.

...Q. Do the Biggest Losers get paid to be on the show?

A: Yes, they make a stipend for being on the show. One season it was $900 a week but I don’t know how much it currently is. This is how some of the people are able to support their families despite being gone for so long.

http://www.avclub.com/article/whats-it-like-to-be-a-contestant-on-the-biggest-lo-105916

...AVC: Do you have a sense of what producers were looking for when they picked you over someone else?

NM: I think it’s a combination of things. We spent an entire day getting medical tests. A lot of people aren’t actually physically fit to be able to do it. We worked out six to seven hours a day. Even though we were fat, we still had to be healthy and there were some people that just weren’t healthy enough.

And to get back to the OP:

http://www.avclub.com/article/whats-it-like-to-be-a-contestant-on-the-biggest-lo-105916

...AVC: You’ve also had plastic surgery since you left the show.

NM: I got a bio-lift and tummy tuck. A lot of people who were thin and then gained weight don't need it, but I was overweight my whole life and I just kept getting heavier. I didn’t lose weight until I was 26. I just kept getting heavier and heavier. So I got a bio-lift and a tummy tuck, then I got an arm lift and I got my boobs done, which was like my favorite thing ever, because I was the only fat girl with no boobs.

Everyone has 6 hours a day to exercise.

Well....my work day from the time I roll out of bed until the time I walk in the door in the evening after work....is 12 hours, then add 7 hours for sleep, then take off another hour a day for laundry, paying bills, housecleaning, and "relieving myself".....even at that I would still only have 4 hours average on a weekday. And my life is DULL by most standards....I can't imagine anyone else who actually has a real life being able to exercise for 6 hours a day.

I didn't say they'd have a life....just that everyone has 6 hours.

I for one prefer procrastination.

**** Spoiler alerts for this season of Biggest Loser, which I've been watching on hulu.com. Although the winner's been plastered all over the place, lol. ***

The winner was a nationally competitive swimmer in high school. They showed her in a bathing suit half way through the season and it didn't look like she had any cellulite. She snapped back into shape much more easily than the contestants who'd been couch potatoes for much longer.

At the end of the season, the contestants did a Triathlon sprint - 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run. The woman who finished third had difficulty walking up a flight of stairs before she started the Biggest Loser 15 weeks earlier.
