Insist that the schools not put your kid in a class with a non vaccinated child. That's how you lessen the risk to you and yours. However, if your kid has been vaccinated, they aren't likely to get the disease should a non vaccinated child come down with it. What is more likely is that your child will transmit it to an elderly grandparent who is no longer immune, not having had a booster in 50 years. Anybody in your family had chemo in the last five years? They are the ones most likely to get the disease. Or anyone with an auto immune disorder, as typically treatment for that includes drugs to reduce the immune system. Obviously, anyone who had a transplant and is on immune system suppressants is at high risk.
