My Mister developed severe health issues last year, in which one of the medications used to keep him stable was Prednisone, sometimes as much as 60Mg intravenously, during his many hospital stays. He also took it on a daily basis upon release, albeit in smaller quantity. It was no surprise to his Primary Care doctor that his thyroid levels were out of whack. Had it not been for his history with the steroids, he would have referred him for further testing. He has been off the steroids since September, thanks to a miraculous surgery, and his blood levels are now back to normal. How long have you been using steroids/stopped using them? It's been said it could take a good 6 months to get out of your system. Another thing to watch out for his steroid induced diabetes, which most often will also resolve itself once the steroid is discontinued. I understand your concerns, and would be freaking out as well. But it's best that your doctor is willing to make sure there isn't anything more serious going on. Best of luck to you!
