In a way, yes... the kind of stimulation that will enable women to orgasm varies from women to women.

As it is said, practice makes perfect.

Betty Dodson has done a lot of work teaching women how to orgasm.
There are numerous books and DVDs.
And she has a blog:

OP - if you are too shy to actually ask your doctor any question - write it down and give it to him/her. Trust me, doctors would rather answer all your questions, than possibly have you do something that may cause injury.

As for gags - if a gag could cause a seizure then so could food, or liquid or sucking your thumb.... you get the idea. If your gag is something that you can't bite through, I don't see an issue. Again, I'd ask my doctor, and if possible show him the gag you want to use.

oh goodness, is it definitely the phenobarbital, which i was always under the notion that it was coupled with Dilantin. Nasty shit, that dilantin. I had my first -doccumented seizue- when I'd gone down to this hospital to jump thru their hoops so's I could get t into their pain management clinics..i was in the  e.r.ng enough to teach English to an antiquated Salvdoreno (he problly forgot by now but it was fun to do an something to pass the tiime) the nurse calls my name I sling  my gear over my shoulder, walking down hallway for what I perceive is triage number 5. (yes, I'd been there that long) when I collapssed for no reason. pt b i'm on a gurney getting shit interrogeted out of me)I'd had a grand mal 90sec seizure..muscles going rigid, eyes rolling back in the head-i was asked if i rememberd any of it. I didn't A hefty dose of ativan and phenytoin(dila ntin) later and i felt like I came off of one those amusement park rides I swear never to ride. I had them take me offa the dilantin as it made my entire brain feel like it was sloshing all over the skull...no more ativan...alprazolam so Icould sleep at nite and they switched me from the dilantin to Keppra (levetiracetam) and so far doing well on that..mild seizures except for the one where i could actually feel my jaws slamming shut with such force as I could never consciusly  imitate. I don't notice a diffference in my sexuality..but the phenobarbital...a barbiturate...that coud definitely lead to lack of exciting feeling and lethargy
and if you're hell bent on the ball gag, have it be something that you can both breath thru and won't get stuck down your throat. Good luck. ES

I researched all of my medications and the phenobarbital was the only one that has sexual side effects.. Talked to my doctor who let's just say found the whole no orgasm thing highly amusing... me not so much... Was given 4 refferals.. Sounds like I am going to be making the hospital rounds in several towns all over the state. Odd thing is they now want me to go thru physical therapy again... <sighs> and attend some counseling.. <big sigh here> to talk about my divorce ten years ago... I was like really, I don't even think about that man anymore... was told it sounded like my mind and body aren't in synch.. almost said No, Duh! then my doctor and my guy were commenting on how it makes him feel like a stud to have me aroused all the time, i kinda lost my temper and mentioned that all it takes to turn a Stud to a gelding is a small snip with a pair of scissors... they both promptly shut up.... and the grins were gone as well.. smh...

Have no desire to be gagged.. Hope this thread has helped someone.. And I would like to thank all of you who have left links to websites for me to check out.. while I don't have the time to look at them right now I will come back and go over them..

Sincerely,

Sheryl

The anti-convulsants like Lamictal can interfere with libido and the ability to orgasm.
The risk of gags comes not from the medication but if you had a seizure while gagged. You could suffer from asphyxia if unable to clear the mouth.

I suggest you talk honestly with your doctor. They won't pass judgment on you, and they do want to make sure you're safe. They are the best people to talk to about how to do this as safely as possible.e

I take Dilantin for generalized seizures. My understanding has always been that using a gag or doing any other bdsm activities should be looked at the same way as other activities. As DesFIP says, the risk of gags isn't from the medication...but from how it can cause more problems if you have s seizure while gagged.
Something else to consider is...how controlled are your seizures? How long has it been since you've had one? Have you been told to not go swimming or or do other activities that my pose an extra danger to you if you have a seizure?

As far as libdo....Epilepsy and anti-seizure medications can decrease sex drive, but that varies widely depending on the individual, which medications they are taking, and the dosage(s)
