One of the problems that you could be encountering is that the women you're approaching don't feel as if you see them as people. But instead as an actress who should be pleased to play the part in the script you've written. Nobody wants to feel as though the person they are with is actually spending more time paying attention to the ghost of a past relationship.
If we wanted another woman to be involved, we'd look for a living one.
Maybe you don't come across this way when you talk to people, but this is how it reads.
