Just a little poem I threw together tonight. Let me know what you think.
-------------------------
Why are We Sad?
Did we do something bad?
It is a feeling not one person can escape,
whether you're asleep or awake.

Sadness comes and goes with everything in the world,
you will cry and weep and feel your head spinning in a whirl.
For you cannot escape it, or any other emotion within your heart,
and sadness has it's own, important part.

We can be sad because we are lonely and need to be loved,
or maybe because we're disappointed in something we've done.
Someone could have hurt us, or ignored us completely,
or attention is stolen by someone who acts needy.

It can lead to so many things that we can create,
from jealousy to anger to depression to hate.
Sadness always will come into our hearts, no matter what we do,
but that's why we have others to give us a hug and tell us what to do.

Why are We Sad? That question's a big mystery,
for only we can answer that, in and out of misery.

I'll say this much: this (and a lot of other posts here whether or not they are supposedly polished) is more authentic than most of what's on TV, youtube, etc.

This reminded me of the quote (from ThinkExist) and proverb:

“You cannot prevent the birds of sorrow from flying over your head, but you can prevent them from building nests in your hair.”
Chinese Proverbs quotes

If this is based on personal events I hope things get better for you...gentle suggestion is not to place too much hope on finding (let alone finding "soon") someone special on CM because "a watched pot never boils" but on the other hand using this and sites to share and to meet folks without too many expectations, while also working in one's own "real" (offline) life to improve things, is probably a good step all of us can take...not to eliminate sadness (can't eliminate it entirely, it's unavoidable part of life as you point out) but to maybe avoid having lots more of it than we might have otherwise. Peace. :-)
